So we dont go through school? We do it by ourselves? Anyone know the closing date? Is it best to get in early? - I have some questions I need to ask my university before I select my preferences. Thanks.

Is that directed to me? or that UAC is for post-graduates? Thanks.

Another stupid question: Why isn't my desired course present? http://www.courses.mq.edu.au/2012/Undergraduate/Honours/Honours+degree+of+Bachelor+of+Ancient+History http://www4.uac.edu.au/wap/undergraduate-mya11.aspx?course_code=&method=exact&keywords=&university=Macquarie+University Is it...

Difference between Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Ancient History (Hons).

Of course! I know that it has no real meaning since the subject pretty much mimics the B.A. I'd definitely want to do Masters/PHD at MQ or elsewhere that focuses on ancient history.

Post-Modernist history fiction (confusing title - let me explain).

Hey, I have been examining the past paper for English advance to check out my latest module 'history and memory'. It's a recent addition, but it appears that the questions follow the same format of subjective history/bias. I am supposed to find my own related material for our novel 'The fiftieth...

Difference between Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Ancient History (Hons).

Yes I see that now. Seems like the B.AHIS is more restrictive than the B.arts offering me less of a choice. However I do like saying: "I'm doing a Bachelor of Ancient History" Rather than "I'm doing a Bachelor of Arts." :tongue2:

Thanks for the replies guys, that's pretty great. I think I'm looking to do the B.AHIS now. Thankyou for your replies.

Difference between Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Ancient History (Hons).

ok that's awesome then. As much as I want to focus on Ancient history, I also wanted to take English and modern history units too. I thought you did B.AHIS. Can I ask if you prefer it over the B.Arts? If you could re-choose would you have kept B.AHIS over B.A?

Difference between Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Ancient History (Hons).

Awesome explanation! Just one thing, If I did a B.Ancient history would I be able to choose courses from the B.Arts with the extra 24cp. My friend is claiming that if I studied the B.Ancient history, I wouldnt study any other non-ancient history units during my undergraduate degree...

Difference between Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Ancient History (Hons).

It says the course is an undergraduate degree. Maybe its part of the Bachelor of arts but only runs on the final year. This would make sense since its got the exact same courses on offer as the arts. However it has an atar requirement? Thanks for that.

    Modern Historians

Modern historians for which course? Egypt? Persia? Greece? Usually the HSC textbooks will include modern historians you can refer to. Also, I'm not sure what you will get off websites on modern historians, it would be more beneficial to go to the actual books of the modern historians, most have...

Difference between Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Ancient History (Hons).

Hey, I know that one or two people on this board are currently doing, or completing their B.A of Ancient history. I had previously thought that the course had been shut down in 2011, but it looks like it's being run in 2012...

I dont understanding scaling but can anyone tell me badly I messed up...

I dont quite understand. Say I score 80% in the externals but come 5th and the people ahead of me score 50%, what happens? It's a really shitty school, Class average was 47% (my mark so I cant really complain).

Thats a huge relief. I'm guessing that the rank is what goes to the Atar?

I dont understanding scaling but can anyone tell me badly I messed up...

One last question: I've been thinking about my 47% and have been wondering will this 47% contribute to my Atar, or is it just my rank? Clarification: I did bad and if this 47% is worth half of my atar, that would suck. But if it's just your rank that's worth half of your Atar, that wouldn't be...

Yes Multimedia is an ATAR course. I wouldnt want to drop a subject this late, seems like a waste of two years. Also Multimedia has a major work that I've been doing for the past year.

Thanks for the replies. I've definitely been neglecting maths by putting a focus on my english and history units. I'm going to put an extreme focus on maths for the next 2 months. Thanks.

Thanks for the replies. How exactly would it affect me? No matter how I do will it bump the 5 or so people up? will I be bumped down depending on them?

(I asked in general maths, but decided this would get better responses) Hey, I am not so great at maths. Prior to the trial exams, I was ranked 4th in the class (this is a pretty low-ranking school, I was roughly scoring from the 70's - mid to high 80's.) However I just got back my trial...
