    Should I repeat Year 12?

'My dad thinks i should repeat year 12 because he doesn't think i'm capable of doing well at uni.' "I would ignore their advice on this"

    Should I repeat Year 12?

Your parents don't sound like they know anything about how university actually works, i would ignore their advice on this. It really isn't that difficult to maintain the sort of marks required to transfer - my friend had no trouble and was a credit average student. Why waste time and money on...

    Should I repeat Year 12?

Of course, all of what i stated above assumes that you get high enough marks to transfer. You cannot graduate from a degree unless you complete all the requirements.

    Should I repeat Year 12?

Note that if you plan to transfer, you just use the initial degree as a 'shell' degree. What these means is that you only take units which are relevant to your desired degree and disregard all the requirements of the initial degree that are not relevant. You can then transfer the credit from...

    Should I repeat Year 12?

A very good friend of mine did this, 99% sure he started out in the B. Sci. Just took Comp sci units as if he were doing the B. Comp. Sci., then transferred the credit over when he transferred into the new program. Heaps of people do this, it's really not at all hard to do so long as you have...

    Should I repeat Year 12?

No big deal, just do a B. Sci, take Comp. Sci. units then transfer...?

    Prep for uni

Honestly don't bother, enjoy your free time while you have it. I just finished my 4th year of uni, it gets old very quickly.

How to prepare for another year of university

So watch some motivational videos or whatever it is that gets you off...? I don't know why the OP has such a problem with procrastination and laziness, but at the end of the day most people are lazy simply because they allow themselves to be, if you really care about your studies you need to get...

How to prepare for another year of university

Not really? If it's an issue with laziness and not the difficulty of the content then just suck it the fuck up and do the work.

How to prepare for another year of university

Knock these out with a little self discipline and you will improve.

    Which uni is best?

A very good friend of mine graduated from UNSW Comp. Sci. last year. He seemed to enjoy his course and landed a job in the first couple of months post graduation. Your experience may not be anything like his, but anyway. EDIT: didn't realise op had already resolved issue.

    Pronounce 'locus'

It would be an interesting concept that the pronunciation of a word, but not the spelling, should change to reflect a different sense. *shrug*
  14. -may-cat-

    Pronounce 'locus'

But why one over the other, what was it about the different pronunciation that convinced you?

    Pronounce 'locus'

This is interesting, in latin i have only ever heard it pronounced 'low-cus'

    Anyone else not memorizing?

lol, people fight about this at the same time every year. Some people memorise essays and do really poorly, others memorise and do very well. Some people do not memorise essays and do really poorly, others do not memorise and do very well. At the end of the day each person is going to prepare...

Atar cut-off for Bachelor of Ancient History

Since Macquarie is phasing out Honours, you should save yourself the inevitable administrative shitfight that i am currently going through and just study ancient history through a straight BA. Honestly, don't be fooled by the fancy name of the degree; you can study absolutely everything you...

Well over1/2 through degree. Stick at it or drop out?

What will the completed degree offer you in terms of job opportunity? If you hate studying within this discipline, imagine what working within it will be like.

    2012 Open Day thoughts?

How did they improve your open day experience?

    2012 Open Day thoughts?

Yeah, not too many students tend to go on uni on Saturday... lack of classes and all... I loved that they put the 'science for kids' tent right next to a smoking area, smooth MQ, almost as good as the disability awareness conference on the 3rd floor...
