    HSC 2012-2015 Chemistry Marathon (archive)

re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive So the 1.38g was right? all I didn't do was do exact values? So does the yeast remain a constant mass and doesn't affect the total mass? so it just stays there? Yay :), haha. Oooh, I did this paper aswell hahaha. I screwed up MC aswell (11/20)...

    Trig

Yea, so it should work regardless of which one you use. Not sure why the 2nd one wanted + =S

    Ln absolute values in integration.

Hmm from what I've heard 3u dont worry, 4u put them in. But my 4u teacher says don't worry about them. Weird haha, don't think it's necessary though (haven't seen a q that actually needed it)

    HSC Final mark

Unlikely unless your cohort bombs out, say the difference between first(92) and last is 40(52), the marks are squished together between 52 and 92, So the guy coming first could get the 92 and you may still get a 91 (unsure the actual way they do it soz)

re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive What trial is this from? I gave it a go but it's probably wrong... I'll scan it. I assumed that there would be no change in mass from the yeast. Can you PM me the paper and solutions please HeroicPandas? edit: lol maybe due to my laziness and not using...

re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive Don't think it's gamma radiation (correct me if I'm wrong pls). B- decay (electron) is acompanied by an electron anti neutrino (it's just fundamental for this to occur, something to do with balancing and conserving energy or something =S, think it's anti...

    HSC Final mark

Regarding the person coming last affecting the gap between first and last, what if that person is an outlier? say <30. Will they still affect the gap or just be considered an outlier? Btw, OP in that situation the person coming first would get the 95.

re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive I'm unsure if this is correct but since the c-cl bonds are broken in the trophosphere I assumed that they would do the ozone depletion process to the bad ozone (ie ozone formed in trophosphere as it is toxic and a pungent gas), thus would be beneficial due to...

HELP! HSC Chemistry 2010 Paper - Multiple Choice Question

whoops my bad, yeah since it's amphoteric it will react with the water and produce NH3 + H3O+ ions, which is same as H+, favouring forward rxn. so when increasing the concentration would it be better to say favour the forward/backward rxn? no problem :)

    HSC 2012-2015 Chemistry Marathon (archive)

re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive (unsure can someone mark this please :) ) a & b) CFC's are chloro fluro carbons and are harmful to the ozone layer due to their ability to break their c-cl bonds in the stratosphere (due to UV a and UV b radiation), they make it up to the stratosphere...

Is a +90 ATAR still possible?

Your ranks aren't too bad. I'd say you still can but only if you do well in externals.
