    internal aligning

    The person ranked first will always get the highest external mark as their internal mark. So in this case, 98
  2. tambam

    internal aligning

    Yeah, in this case its not completely beyond your control. If you help your cohort do well, then you're also helping yourself.

    Scholarships

    I'd say most applicants who stand out in their personal statements are ones that can sound passionate about what kind of career they want to have, and i'm pretty sure you have to nominate one specific faculty, so if you're not sure of what course you want to do, how would that work?

    = firsts (Good god)

    Re: = Fuckin firsts (Good god) This doesnt work because schools could just manipulate ranks and place many students on 1st. Then they will all get the same excellent internal mark, and this wouldn't be fair.

    internal aligning

    If you get the top external mark of 97, then your internal moderated mark would be around 92. If your cohort does poorly, it might be lower than 92, and if your cohort does very well, it could be higher than 92.

    Perms and Combs

    Okay fine, because you asked nicely, i will attempt to do your question, though i can't guarantee that its correct, and anyone feel free to correct me. This is what i did: What are the possible permutations where the mother(M) and father(F) are seated together, which would be 4!x2= 48 Then you...

    Are you anticipating your Yr 11 report will be a motivator or affirmator?

    Just a heads up guys, if you're planning on applying for scholarships, cadetships, coops etc, some will ask for very detailed results from year 11 (ranks, marks), so although most people will tell you yr11 doesn't mean anything, this isn't necessarily the case

    @baulkam hills students

    Top mark was 118

    @baulkam hills students

    I think 108 was something like 5th, and I know of at least 3 people who got that. So yeah, 10th to 15th sounds about right

    Are all the good scholarships becoming "indigenous only"? Discuss.

    No, you've actually done nothing in the way of making any sort of valuable contribution to this discussion, an I think many others have made valid points which have altered my thinking, though I still stand by my view that its not wrong to award indigenous scholarships if the government feels...

    Are all the good scholarships becoming "indigenous only"? Discuss.

    Can you answer my question from the other thread? Areyou actually financially disadvantaged and hence bitter of a system that favours indigenous Australians above you? Or are you just greedy and have an inflated sense of self importance which makes you think you're entitled to completely free...

    MAQ or USYD for Arts degree - all things considered

    Mate, the problem is that you somehow think that you should be entitled to free money, and should not be required to pay for your own educational or boarding expenses. Are you actually financially disadvantaged in any way?

    MAQ or USYD for Arts degree - all things considered

    Extrapolate: (verb) To estimate or conclude (something) in a certain way Don't incorrectly use big words that you don't know the meaning of. & Stop making multiple threads asking pretty much the same thing... The general consensus is that usyd law is the best, and it'd be pretty foolish to go...

    Are all the good scholarships becoming "indigenous only"? Discuss.

    Yeah, i completely agree with this, but at the end of the day, there's really no perfect way to measure academic excellence. That's why its pretty good that sydney uni at least has faculty scholarships (no idea how many though) which consider your atar along with extracurricular activities...

    Are all the good scholarships becoming "indigenous only"? Discuss.

    Aren't these sponsored by individuals mostly? In which case they can choose how to use their money, and set the criteria. For example, a rich old lady wanting to help a female whose situation she had been in many years before (hypothetical) Well considering that as ebony said, scholarships are...

    Teachers and Bos in regards to marking

    Yeah, my school does the same thing, so in year 12 there are no 'take home and hand in' assignments, and research components were simply met by 'researching' syllabus dot points independently, then sitting an exam, and in many situations we are allowed to bring in 1 sheet of researched...

    MAQ or USYD for Arts degree - all things considered

    +1 A uni degree costs in excess of 30 000 dollars a year. Thanks to hecs you only need to pay a maximum of 10k a year, and even then you only pay once youre earning a decents salary. So be greatful our government is freaking generous, and stop complaining. Its a blessing if you do get a...

    What should i concentrate on?

    I do business studies but not maths ex2, but assuming from your atar aim that you're fairly smart, I'd say its not actually possible to dedicate a great deal of effort to it, not only cost its boring but because its so simple. The only difficult bit is memorizing the syllabus word for word...

    Are all the good scholarships becoming "indigenous only"? Discuss.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression thatfor most courses you're only required to pay a hecs contribution of around $1000 a year, and the rest you pay back when you inevitably geta job. And no, of all the scholarship schemes I've looked at recently, there appear to be plenty...
