    caffeine vs nicotine vs other

Caffiene...... though it is becoming less effective recently. D:

School nearly over, how do you feel?

Really excited for the future! n_n But then again, nervous about the HSC. But then again, pumped for holidays. But then nostalgic for what I will miss.

Preliminary thoughts about picking up and dropping?

History Extension isn't as flash scaling compared to the other extensions, though it does have reasonably well scaling compared to your other subjects. My advice, if you're looking into doing it next year, make sure you understand that there is a major work and that it is a course that looks at...

    Teachers on Strike

This. The government is treating teachers unfairly, it still wants a good quality education system but doesn't want to pay for it. And this is affecting many public sector employees, not just teachers. I know that there are masses of teachers whom of which don't provide a good quality education...

No problem, Rep was deserved. n_n Ehh, not too terrible. Just finished a bulk load of History Ext. Past papers, so that's great. Ancient and Modern isn't too bad either, love the content so it's pretty easy to remember. n_n How's everything going for you? Which topics are you doing for your...

Who has a day off? How are we spending it?

Sounds like a good day to do some English / Modern / Ancient past papers. But I'll also be toddler sitting a four year old, so perhaps not... Sleep sounds good too. n_n

    HSC Writing Paper

As long as the words and lettering is distinguishable you'll be okay. n_n Trust me, I've seen some terrible scripts that my English teacher has kept from past student trials, and there's some scribbles out there that's for sure. Plus HSC markers are usually pretty good at exam ramble...

    Group Study

With the right people it works. A few of my friends and I have started a study group for Modern and Ancient History this year, and is definitely beneficial. Allows us to informally go through definitions, essays, important points, quotes, arguments, source analysis skills in a pretty lax...

    HSC Writing Paper

Agreed. Smaller writing requires much more precision, whereas larger writing is just a lightning blegh. :P Plus you have to remember the poor markers at the marking centres at nine o'clock at night, larger writing is definitely easier to read rather than a smaller script, especially after the...

The end of high school is near...

I'm actually eager to move out in the big wide world! n_n Quite over the monotony of school recently, it's just ugh. Though, I am torn, I'm going to miss a few things quite a lot. D:

Has the same essay question ever been asked two years in a row for any subject?

Just articulate some practice responses for last years, it really isn't that difficult. Plus its good practice and I really wouldn't risk 'ignoring' questions because they've already been asked. From what my teacher says (she's a HSC maker btw) English and History exam paper writers work on a...

    Worth choosing??

It's good to know a diverse range of historians that you could utilise in an essay for Section I. I think we did roughly the same, though of course we have our favourites that we always seem to use and refer to more so than others. I think you could risk knowing 5 in-depth, as long as they're...

Favourite subject last year was Ancient History. n_n

    Worth choosing??

Exam has 2 sections. First section is the CORE topic: What is History? This is basically where you get a source and you have to use that source and one/two other historians to answer a question about. There's key debate areas, including: - What are the aims and purposes of history? - How has...

    help with EES

It is a 2 unit subject which does require completion of the preliminary content prior to undertaking it at HSC level. I'd highly recommend that you check the syllabus! Especially when concerning the cores! Probably around 80% of my class has dropped it, due to the fact that it wasn't what they...

Preliminaries to get my Study Habits in order for HSC

Highly agree with enoilgam. It's never too late until the fat lady sings (well that's if you're at my school, and the Principal sings - 'Onto the HSC now' -) at the end of Term 3. Use the yearly examinations to try and experiment with techniques on how to study and different methods, and...

    Our BOW is finished!

I highly agree with Deer. The past couple of months (more so weeks) I have watched some of my closest friends stress to the maximum about their art majors, to the point they began to detest the subject. Just be proud of what you guys have managed to create (during a very stressful period of...

Distinctively Visual - Shoe Horn Sonata related texts (2011)

Haha, I've done the Module now since my last lot of input. In my class we have done the following related texts: - 'William Street' - Kenneth Slessor (Poem). - 'Scenic Drive' - R. Cobb (Cartoon). - 'Preludes' - T.S. Eliot (Poem). - 'The Lovesong of J.Alfred Prufrock' - T.S. Eliot...

    Worth choosing??

GIVE IT AGO! It's my best advice! If you're even thinking of doing it, just give it a try. You can always drop it later, so where's the harm in trying? It is a really great course, totally loving it! Plus it's good that you do Modern History, it does seem to deter to modern history rather...

    How much do you sleep?

I'm the opposite to most. I go to bed at 10-12 (depending on how tired I am), and end up waking up 4:30/5ish every morning the past few months. It's insanely gross in winter. D: Especially on the weekends.. u_u
