How do you prepare for the gazillion possible essay questions in economics???

Also in terms of stats, how picky are the markers? Are we allowed to make up stats (within a reasonable estimate) for curveball questions, for example, (I really hope this never appears): "Assess the effectiveness of international organisations and forums in promoting globalisation" Would we...

How do you prepare for the gazillion possible essay questions in economics???

Thanks alot. Also for questions around 'Changes in the global/domestic economy' how would you structure the essay? Would it be around significant events like the 2005-11 TOT Boom, GFC, COVID-19, trade tensions with China, formation of international organisations (I hope we NEVER get an essay on...

How do you prepare for the gazillion possible essay questions in economics???

What would be the most efficient and effective approach in regards to preparation for essays in economics as one can be assessed on various topics? I’ve briefly heard about ‘essay plans’. Any advice from past economics students of their preparation? Should I start making and memorising essay...

Case study in short answer!?!?? (Business Studies)

Do y’all use case studies for your short-answer responses? Also for questions with a stimulus, does anyone like just make a stimulus-based example? For example, say the stimulus was: John owns a shampoo store. Q: Recommend one method of differentiation for John’s shop. Method: Appeal to...

    Trig yelp

    Dunno if there’s an easier way but this is how I did it. First find the inverse of f(x) (I replaced f(x) with y) So x = sec(y) Now differentiate both sides with respect to x 1 = sec(y)tan(y) dy/dx dy/dx = 1/(sec(y)tan(y)) note: 1 + tan^2(y) = sec^2(y) (make tan(y) the subject) So tan(y) =...

How are you all making the most out of your holidays? Are you consolidating the content from the previous term? If so, are you completing past HSC short-answers, drafting essays, or a mixture of both? Alternatively, are you going through new content (Topic 3), making notes, flashcards or...

Should I focus on English or sustain my ranks in my other subjects?

Glad to know that I’m not entirely alone in this boat. I guess you could say this struggle is a common human experience wink wink I’m so funny ;)

Should I focus on English or sustain my ranks in my other subjects?

Appreciate the words of wisdom. Though the thing I find with English is that sometimes whenever I try to sit down and ‘study’ (whatever constitutes study) I sometimes end up getting no work done which is frustrating as that time could’ve been directed elsewhere more productively. Perhaps as a...

Should I focus on English or sustain my ranks in my other subjects?

I’m still deciding whether I want to go into either Comp sci, psychology or a degree in politics, philosophy and economics and I believe they all require around a 96 atar. My ranks in so far: Economics: 1/14 Business: 1/80 Math Ext 1: 2/12 Math Ext 2: 4/5 SOR 1: 3/30 English Advanced 10/40 (I...

    BOP essay help pls

Persistent CAD -> Undermines external stability and Australia’s financial obligations -> risk of falling into debt cycles, can also be linked to investor confidence (more reluctant to invest) -> lack of capital inflows may reduce medium to long-term growth

    economics exam

How long is your exam and what topic? I recommend smashing out the multiple choice section to have a more time for a solid essay. In terms of short answers, for 1-3 markers get straight to the point, you don’t have time and the space to waffle. I recommend planning a bit before responding to the...

What exactly does it mean to have a narrow export base? Also, what are the effects of having a narrow export base on the economy?

I agree with the point that Australia needs to expand its export base to more stable goods/services (which we are attempting to do as services have increased as a share of total exports by 17% to 21%)

What exactly does it mean to have a narrow export base? Also, what are the effects of having a narrow export base on the economy?

Minerals and fuels comprise of over 50% of Australia’s exports, hence the reason why Australia’s export base is considered ‘narrow’ i.e limited. This can be problematic as the prices of commodities like minerals and fuels can be highly volatile (as seen during GFC iron prices fell about 80%...
