Honestly not sure but the question suggested to use it somehow along with Q14bii) I think you could still solve alpha^4 + beta^4+ gamma^4 without it but it’ll take long af… Can’t imagine expanding (alpha + beta + gamma)^4

    Yeah Q14ci) was something like: P(x) = x^3 -3x^2 + x + 1, roots are alpha, beta, gamma R(x) = x^3 -107x^2 + 27x + 1 Find alpha^4 + beta^4 + gamma^4

    Wtf was that Q14c) Polynomial question… Q14b P(x) = x^3 + kx^2 + mx + n, it’s roots are alpha, beta, gamma all of which are distinct It is known the roots of the monic polynomial Q(x) are alpha^2, beta^2, gamma^2 Show Q(x^2) = -P(x)*P(-x) ii) Find Q(x)

For Q19) I believe Banks have less of an incentive to leave money in their ESAs based on a similar variation to the question in 2014 The answer to this question was A (expansionary monetary -> incentivises, hence contractionary should do the opposite) In terms of the theory, I have no clue...

I'm so pissed as well for this question I literally did a variation of it three nights ago sinx + sin2x + ... + sinnx but literally mindblanked for part ii) I got part i) luckily it was just a geometric progression, but I couldn't simplify the result... I divided each term by e^itheta/2 when I...

I'm so pissed I screwed up my conversion of -1 into exponential form. I wrote z^9 = cis(kpi) instead of z^9 = cis(pi + 2kpi) I'm so dumbbb. All you then do is sum of roots, one of the roots comes out as ±1/2 and just make note of -cos5pi/9 = cos4pi/9 and -cos7pi/9 = cos2pi

Also what did yall get for the distance travelled for Q15b) the fricken vector-helix question combined with mechanics. My unwise brain saw it was 1 mark and I just did the velocity (4m/s) times 10 (since they wanted after 10s)! Surely it wasn't that simple...

16ci) There was a part one which was to find v in terms of t given resistance is kv^2, mass of skydiver is 'm', and take up as positive (weirdly) Basically integrating a = 1/m (kv^2 - mg), note: assume at rest when t=0 They give you the required result...

    Couldn't solve 16aii) and Q16b) Q16a) Prove \int_0^1 x^p (1-x)^q dx \ = \frac{q}{p+1}\ \int_0^1 x^{p+1}(1-x)^{q-1}dx Hence, prove \int_0^1 x^p (1-x)^q dx \ = \frac{p!q!}{(p+q+1)!} Q16b) Consider the concavity of y=(x)^1/3 Prove (a-b)^1/3 + (a+b)^1/3 < 2(a)^1/3 Any ideas?

    Hopeee!?

Hey all, Given in 2021 52% of students doing Eng advanced obtained a Band 5, and based on my internals (currently sitting on 72%) (Trials are in 2 weeks) is it still realistic for me to try and get a band 6 without severely jeopardising my performance in my other subjects? I do eco, business...

Is the Terms of Trade (TOT) really a cyclical factor affecting the BOP?

The 2022 Dixon textbook asserts: "The greatest influence on Australia’s balance of payments in recent years has been changes in Australia’s terms of trade." What I can't seem to comprehend is how an 'indicator' (the TOT is calculated by dividing the export price index over the import...

A 'definition' question: Is Microeconomic policy a subcategory of Fiscal policy?

Hey all, I hate that I am a perfectionist and extremely obsessed with my definitions. I have a 2000 word essay due (fun) in 2 and half weeks on the 'consequences of high unemployment and inflation as well as policies to achieve low inflation and unemployment' and my plan is: Unemployment...

I would try to include somewhere that ‘labour is a derived demand” June quarter of 2020 economic growth declined by 7% correspondingly, U.R reached a high of 7.4% I would double check the stats but use this to demonstrate the general inverse relationship between growth and unemployment When...
