    Ranking and Final Mark in Exam!

    That's actually not quite right either, but close. Your relative difference to other people isn't preserved in moderation due it the moderation curve being quadratic, and not linear. Someone who is 50% behind first could go to being 10% behind first - it depends on the performance of the cohort...

    I literally only analysed the word "butterfly" and discussed the importance of it being in italics twice

    English Dilemna

    It's a lot more complex than that --- very exceptional cases would be determined on a case by case basis by the Board. However, if the mark is the lowest mark in the cohort, then it undergoes an automatic check. An estimated lowest Mark is generated automatically (I can give you the formula if...

    Ranking and Final Mark in Exam!

    That's incorrect, I'm afraid. Your internal mark doesn't depend on other people individually, but on the cohort as a whole. An example of a class of marks, in the form of Actual Internal Mark/Reported Internal Mark/External/HSC 95 - 88 - 88 || 88 87 - 84 - 88 ||86 82 - 82 - 80 ||81 73 - 76 -...

    English Dilemna

    The way it works is that your 'internal mark' is some portion of the total marks achieved externally, determined by rank*. However, if a student underperforms externally, they are (along with their mark) excluded from this pool of total marks. Additionally, your external mark isn't affected in...

    General thoughts: English Advanced Modules Paper 2

    The exam went amazingly for me Both extracts for 1984 + Metropolis were things I was already going to use, and the Hamlet question was so generic. Too bad imagery is such a blanket term, I focused on characterisation and language. I was tired by the time I got to Mod C but they didn't specify...

    General Thoughts: Music 2 Paper

    Writing student no. before/after exam?

    If I remember correctly, you don't write your student number down anywhere. You get given personalised booklets with your number already on them

    How many quotes are you doing for AOS essay?

    Although the recent trend has been to use really short quotes, I prefer longer, more substantial quotes. I'll take a sentence and replace parts that aren't necessary for my analysis with [...], then analyse the quote as a whole and maybe focus on a smaller section to further push a point.
