    Prelim 2015 Chit Chat Thread

Whilst historical performance cannot accurately predict future performance, it's really hard to tell how strong one's cohort is really. I guess everyone would hope that their cohort is actually strong. I'd just worry about your internal rank compared to your overall internal mark (some...

    Prelim 2015 Chit Chat Thread

As long as you secure a good internal rank (preferably 1st), it should be fine. Your actual mark/100 matters more for your externals. Was it CSSA, independent or a school-written paper?

Then again, they can't really say ''it's not all good''. It's been awhile since I was a Year 11 who had a crush. God, I'm feeling old.

I can imagine that exemplar Discovery essays will be in high demand since the 2015 cohort is the first cohort to sit the new AoS. Will be similar for the introduction of any new texts in the 2015-2020 syllabus. The 2016ers would definitely want any up to date resources (e.g. Discovery essays...

    FINS1613 summer school roll call

Wasn't there a BoS hate letter on UNSW confessions recently? :p Looks like FINS1613 s1 probably had weaker scaling this year.

North Sydney Boys YEAR 9 TEST Help/info/tips?

Though it should be noted that, while Sydney Boys places emphasis on this, it doesn't apply as much to NSB. Certainly won't improve your chances but it won't worsen them either. Hard to say, but it won't help you. There's bound to be other outstanding applicants who have stronger reports...

    The Tennis Thread

Roger is done winning slams off grass (too easily upset - see USO12-14 where he lost to Berdych, Robredo and Cilic) and even on grass, he looks done winning Wimbledon too. I think Andy is the only guy who can challenge Novak.

I don't think doing a practice paper will make too much of a difference at this stage (especially since it's English). Just revise your material (e.g. prepared essays/creatives) and head off to bed.

No palm cards? Back in Year 12, for my school's mod C speech assessment, there were basically 4 questions and on the day, they'd choose 2 for each student to do at random (so ideally, you want to be prepared for all 4) and you weren't allowed to bring in palm cards. Each speech was only around...

That's what happened for me to an extent. Business Studies and Economics were my carries, but I made sure I wasn't too shabby at English or Extension 2 Mathematics as well. Hope it all goes well :) My friend went from getting Ds in Year 11 English to getting into the top 10 of the Adv...

Very much possible. I personally did Advanced English, Extension 2 Mathematics, Business Studies, Economics and Physics (my only science - which was my weakest subject and it didn't count towards my ATAR). I think I would have done worse if I chose at least ''two sciences''. I'm not sure how...

    Transferring questions

Note: There are no guarantees with credit transfers as credits can change (i.e. be added or become expired) from year to year so the following should only be used as a guide. The table above outlines the credits that you can expect to receive if transferring from UTS Business to UNSW Commerce...

Really dependent on your internal rank, how well your cohort performs in externals (the HSC exam) and of course, a strong performance from you. Averaging 60s/low 70s could mean different things between different schools. I think it's better to assess your situation after trials. Do you know...

    UNSW Chit Chat Thread

Re: UNSW Chit Chat Thread 2015. I guess they thought there were too many Ds and HDs in Semester 1 (60 MC, 15 marks SA finals) so they changed it to 70 marks worth of SA. They're clearly trying to make ACCT1511 harder.
