  1. Q

    standard english

It scales the same as advanced (this is discussed on many other threads). However, it is aligned differently, making it much more difficult to get a band 6 (less than 1% of the cohort). Scaling the same I.e. earning an 85 in standard and an 85 in advanced will yield the same ATAR, all other...
  2. Q

    Enrolling into Double Law

Note that you have to fulfil the entry requirements for the other degree, but you'll be free to enrol in the other degree of your choice when the time comes.
  3. Q

Which Degree is the best out of the following:

If you aim to be an accountant, BPA will allow you to satisfy CPA/CAANZ requirements. If you do BCom(accounting), you may not satisfy all the requirements. Maybe a BPA BCom double will allow you to pursue the full accounting pathway as well as a commerce pathway. Note that economics is very...
  4. Q

    how to state rank?

no. not gonna reveal more bc doxxing but generally 1st needs to have 100% raw
  5. Q

    how to state rank?

lol yeh pretty sure my state rank came from handwriting too
  6. Q

    how to state rank?

there's little to no point of aiming for a state rank tbh - it's a nice bonus at best but won't really boost your atar.
  7. Q

    How does selection ranks work?

Yep sorry about the unclear terminology
  8. Q

    How does selection ranks work?

If it’s a non restricted course (unlike med, nursing etc where there’s a seat cap), the previous years ATAR cutoff is generally safe to get an offer
  9. Q

Help!! General maths not being a thing anymore..

I actually like how they’ve made the relationship a bit more like standard and advanced english
  10. Q

Help!! General maths not being a thing anymore..

Standard Maths is just General Maths but with a name change. They added a statistics topic (quite basic) which will be helpful in your everyday life. You have to go back to the early 2000s for the completely "different" maths in society/maths in practice courses.
  11. Q

    Graphing Applications

They don't use the classic Latex Computer Modern font, they use Times New Roman (and its latex math version StiX)
  12. Q

    LAT

Why would UNSW say that they hand out offers liberally 😂 From what I’ve heard, don’t bother w tutoring for the LAT. you can probably come to your own informed opinion by looking up some BoS threads.
  13. Q

    Graphing Applications

Your school may be using GeoGebra (an easy to use application). I believe NESA uses LaTeX and TikZ to write its exams (using the stix font). For high school graphing purposes, I’d recommend geogebra or Desmos as they are easy to use and have options that make the graphs more dynamic.

    Congrats on mod!

    Congrats on mod!
  15. Q

Internal or external transfer for Usyd vet med?

I don’t think it’s possible to do a traditional “internal transfer” to veterinary science. Since USyd offers vet as a postgrad package degree (BVB DVM) to yr 12 grads, I’m pretty sure the only way in (apart from yr 12 entry) is to apply for the DVM after you finish your Bachelor degree in Vet Sci.
  16. Q

    Business Analytics

No need to have coding experience at the undergraduate level but it will help.
  17. Q

    Uni

Yes, you can shuffle as much as you like.
  18. Q

    Uni

    1. This is kind of a confusing one to answer, but it depends. This is simplified but rings true for most general degrees. A typical 3 year degree looks like this: (each [...] corresponds to a year's worth of content) [Core] + [Major specific courses] + [Electives]. A double degree looks like...
