I think that kinda depends on the uni as I know UTS doesn't allow people who did Master's by coursework to become a PhD candidate. Also I'm pretty sure if you do well enough in Honours you can then skip Master's and go straight to a PhD.

Just a quick note on the required qualifications to become a PhD student. In the case of someone with a Master's degree wanting to complete a PhD, the requirement of having studied a Master's by research is not university-specific. In addition to Honours, a Master's by research provides appropriate research training (by completing relevant coursework units and a thesis) that makes the student eligible to do research at doctoral level. This means that, unless a Master's by coursework includes a thesis/disseration component, it does not make the student eligible to undertake a PhD.

Did you go to USYD yesterday? was it worth it?
i went to it last year and it was kinda worth it i think, didn't get to see as much as i would have liked but i found a college i'd like and more info about the course i want to do

The UNSW Colleges are AMAZING I love them, I went to a couple USYD ones not for open day but with my school and hated them for some reason they just felt so dark in comparison idk tho

some of the usyd colleges are not it, i might see if i can get a tour of unsw after the hsc though

You can walk around UNSW without anyone pretty much unrestricted except for the classrooms and colleges obviously but if you know anyone that goes to any college they can take you in and walk you around which is great because you see it fr
