Do you guys think it's alright to do 13 units in year 12?

Re: The Nonsense Thread

What subjects are you planning to do in year 12?
Well see I'm planning to pick up ext 2 English but I'm not sure if I should drop society since i don't know if I can trust myself with getting a good mark in maths

yes if you are confident in your subs and your ability to cope

if you were to do ext 2 do you know what medium you would use?

friends who did 13 dropped to 11 or 12
workload does get insane, especially if you're going to do major works
i would just stick to 11. I was considering doing 13 as well but in the end, 11 worked out a lot better for me

Haha wait till you get to engineering.

Its 4-unit Maths, 4-unit Physics and 4-unit (insert major) of a workload. Similar/maybe a bit more to 12 units HSC, but only goes on for about 8 months a year which is the best.

It was pretty hectic doing 13 units, had so much work that I couldn't sleep till 3am. Maybe I should've dropped a science but dropped 4u instead because I was dying cos I couldn't handle the workload. I see no point doing 13 units if 2 subjects aren't going to count, but people go safe and need that feeling I guess.

13 units is definitely doable.

Had a friend who did it and ended up with an 80-ish ATAR despite not putting *too much* effort into HSC.

However in all interests for a 95+ ATAR its probably best to stick with 11-12.

13 units is doable, given that...

You have EXCELLENT time management and can cope with a tedious workload (or pretty much, you're a workaholic).

Did 12 units myself and let's just say... it was terribly difficult to spread the time evenly across my subjects :haha:

I think even 12 units is a difficult task, let alone 13 units.

Maybe give it a shot --> you'll most likely drop to 11 or 12 units later on but who knows.

As long as you remain committed and passionate, 13 units is doable:)
