So, I'm trying to figure out whereabouts I stand in terms of bands.

Trial Mark: 95/105
Paper One: Maybe ~40/45?
Paper Two: 57-60/60

So all up hopefully something around 95+/105. Do you guys think that's a band 5 or a band 6?
Most confident person I've seen lol
95/105 in trials could mean that your teachers just mark easy
Don't get too far ahead of yourself

I'm not trying to sound cocky or anything, but I know for a fact that the teachers who marked our trials are HSC markers and marked according to HSC standards. The only reason I'm that confident is that I ended up clearing the rest of the pack by a bit (~5 marks) and I felt like I was doing crappy in the exams, and ended up getting 36/45 + 59/60, but during the HSC I was feeling super confident because the questions fit well with what I knew. For both sections.

Either way, I was only asking whether or not a raw mark like that would get a band 6.

50/50 chance to be honest. Last year 86/105 went to 86% and aligning decreases as it reaches higher levels so idk if they'll align you down from your 90% to 89 or whether they'll give you the 90% aligned

A 90% in standard doesn't necessarily mean b6 though does it? I read somewhere that they only gave .68% or something like that of the state a b6 last year, so is that just people not getting 90+% or is the threshold generally higher?

Sorry if I came off like I was attacking you, but I'm only going off what I've heard.
My teachers are HSC markers too and they said that they marked at a HSC level or maybe a bit above.
For my trials I received 41/45 + 56/60 and cleared the pack by 10 marks in total.
Just to be clear though, so I don't sound like I'm boasting, I felt a tiny bit uncertain that I could get 95+/105 in the HSC because I've heard that they mark harshly.
When I compare my teachers marking and the rumours of how hard the HSC is marked, it made me feel as if I'd gotten a tiny bit ahead of myself.
So, that being said, I can't be certain that an essay which got 20/20 in the trials will necessarily even crack a 19/20 for the HSC. Lets hope it does though.
Good luck

Module 2 and 3 were easy, distinctive voices for module 1 was a tricky question at the time, but when i look back no it was pretty easy hahaha.

What i think i'll get:

Distinctive voices: 14/20- Pretty bad essay

Wilfred Owen: 17/20- One of the best essay's i've wrote on Wilfred Owen

Global Village: 15/20- Got some good concepts down but didn't really have time to talk about them in enough detail.

For my trials i got 16, 15, 13. They were marked externally by teachers from one of the schools that are in the top 10 in the state.

The distintively visual question was kinda weird ayee.. but it was the wording that i found weird. I think it was about how the composers utilise distinctively visual to portray the characters experiences pretty much.. It was how they worded it out, fkd up a lot of ppl.

yeh. mine did not work very well. I had done The Island by admin gredar. I only got to write about like 1-1.5 paragraphs on it. Didn't have enough time.
