Who would voluntarily choose to raise a child with a severe intellectual disability? There are no government/charitable institutions that will do it either. If you give birth to such a child, you are indentured to spend every waking moment of the next 50 years of your life caring for them. Caring for that child will consume your whole life, you will have to sacrifice everything.

The problem is not one of discrimination, it's just for whatever reason far less females choose to participate in party politics. If say 80% of your active membership is male then that is no doubt going to be reflected in preselections. It's definitely a problem of participation, which the proposed policy will do nothing to address.

I've already stated that adoption is not a viable option. Orphanages are already overcrowded, underfunded, and the conditions are terrible and often children are treated awfully. If I'm wrong correct me but I am convinced that I am not. But the world is already overflowing with unwanted children, and I think it is better if that child didn't exist in the first place.
