What's the best study guide/ workbook/textbook for studying bio??

Also, which is better for chemistry- conquering chemistry or dot point?

For prelim bio I just got excel. Conquering Chemistry is no doubt the best chem book there is for HSC.

If you have some loose change, you could purchase biology in focus and Heinamann. I use both of them and they provide really straightforward information which helps improve your understanding. Goes for you too hayabusaboston, if you're willing to spend the cash.

There's Jacaranda chem too (personally I prefer it to conquering chem)

thanks guys! i have chemistry contexts already, dont know if theyre good or not because i havent started yet...
for bio, i saw an oxford textbook and it looked very detailed with nice illustrations...thoughts?

Umm I'm not too sure about Oxford for biology. Compare textbooks when you visit a book shop or something. Heinamann also has great diagrams imo

If you are a tl;dr student, then the Surfing Biology series is excellent.

Details you aren't sure of later on can be filled in by other textbooks like Excel (the new one).

But Surfing is the best for learning concepts. Nice diagrams and easy-to-understand explanations.

tl;dr = too long, didn't read (used when you can't be bothered reading something, and you want a summarised version)

IMO = in my opinion (or International Mathematics Olympiad lol)
