The Police are agents of the State and don't care for the law in the slightest. Almost all of their practices circumvent the law in order to uphold it which is fucking stupid

I don't believe that they're all good people. Some are corrupt and may do things that are not in the best interest of society. But I think police officers are genuinely trying to make a difference and to help people, making them good people, in my eyes.

Imposing the death penalty creates the implication that the legal system is perfect, in which it is not. Innocent people end up in jail, and under a death penalty system will inevitably be killed for something they are innocent of. At least under the current system these people can be released.

sure it stops the criminal from committing more crimes but if they knew that there was a possibility that they would be executed for murdering someone, wouldn't they then perhaps commit more crimes (e.g. kill witnesses) in order to avoid capture?
