Hi guys. This might be the wrong section, I apologise if it is. However, I am in a family that is unfortunate enough to be placed just within the income bracket for me not to be eligible for youth allowance. Being so, really don't know much about it or how people are eligible because I've never needed to worry about it.
However, now I'm considering leaving home after my HSC. What I want to know is till what age is Youth Allowance given, would I be eligible if I left home, and how much part time job money is the limit before I'm no longer eligible? I hate to scab tax payer's money, but independence is important to me. I'll be working full time and paying back the money in tax soon enough after university
Edit: Also, how much IS the Youth Allowance? I never actually found out LOL
Edit 2: From what I've been researching, IS there an income bracket I have to be in or can I receive it regardless?
Final edit: Found all I needed here. http://www.centrelink.gov.au/internet/internet.nsf/payments/youth_allow.htm
Turns out I'm not eligible after all. Thanks for nothing guys hahaha nah I shouldn't ask stupid questions.
