Hi everyone, I am still in high school but want to know more.
If you are taking BCOM, what is your major?
Anyone knows what is the most popular major among students locally and internationally?
In terms of employment prospectus, salary, competitiveness in the market...etc. Opinions needed!

BCOM is a broad business degree, first year students take identical subjects and in second year you choose to specialise in 1 or 2 fields you enjoy.

Popular majors at the moment are Accounting and Marketing based in my personal perspective.
Followed with Finance

Actually the most popular major is Finance followed by accounting.

About 1100 students do FINS2624 (a core) and about 800 students do ACCT2522 (a core) every year. The cores in other majors are nowhere as popular.

I'm guessing that not many BCOM people taking economic as their major, probably it's relatively hard and not as useful as finance in my opinion, not 100% sure about this though.

But Finance is indeed most popular major in BCOM, even in BECO large proportion of people take finance as one of their double major.

I would say accounting and finance are probably the most common majors.
