Gday all, got an english assignment to do where we have to write a feature article exploring how Yeats poetry has relevance for todays society. From what i understand, you talk about how he has universal themes that apply to all societies and contexts.

However, to do this we have to critically analyse two of his poems in detail and refer to 2 critical readings of his poetry. This is the part im struggling with...i want to do love and use 'When You Are Old' but im not sure what other poem to use and how to incorporate the readings into the article

Any ideas?

i'm doing when you are old and the wild swans at coole
both have concepts of love, aging, death and disconnection
they are all universial ideas and you can apply them anywhere
for the critical studies i'd probably just use the sheets that mills gave us cause i doubt you'll find anything else
