Does anyone know if 5 A’s and 3 B’s are enough when applying for SGGHS (In the hypothetical situation I make it past the HAST test)

I got B’s in maths, science and commerce (was 1 mark short of getting an A 😭)
I can't give you a yes or no answer but I can tell you that the hast test is a large factor to whether you get into the school

what should you do if your naplan results are going to come after the hast deadline, do schools accept you submitting the naplan results late?
Email the school and if they say no persuade them

Yea, its just last year there was a bunch of girls trying out and only 5 girls were successful into the year 9 transfer, this year might be even more competitive since sgghs jumped in ranks

baulko or maybe even ruse
I'm asking because if I have to give my activities in the application, wouldn't it be better to just give a picture of my reports highlighting my activities because it get saves time? if not, what do I do?

Ya do that. If you have out of school activities and stuff you'll need to get proof for stuff like that

hii guys I am applying for HAST year 8 transfer to year 9 but I have some questions.
-In my report I got A for Math, english, christian studies and B for the rest of the subjects (Geo, art, science, music) and C for latin, technology. This is an improvement from last year as I struggle with art, music, pe. This is although a bad result, my school ranking is number 10 and it is a competitive school and you have to complete a test to enter (I entered in year 7). On top of that, I didn't even get bad in my exam marks, for example I got 15/20 and 40/50 in art, 20/30 in technology, 24.5/25 and 30.5/45 in geography 26/30 in science, yet I still got B and C -- this is because everyone in my class is competitive. I don't know if that helps or betters my chance of entering.

On top of that my extra curriculars include clubs, and doing badminton playing competitively and extra tutoring on badminton. On top of this I have doe amc, big science competition, and cat. I did ICAS for math in year 7 and received distinction, 3 marks away from high distinction. I also did ICAS in year 6 and got distinction in math 3 marks away (again) from high distinction and I got credit for english 1 mark away from distinction. My naplan results are also good with everything being in top band 7 or higher.

I am aiming to get top 10% in all subjects of the HAST exam. I took a test in year 7 and my results were top 15% in English, top 50% in math and abstract reasoning and top 10% (the arrow was pointing to the highest point of top 10%). Despite getting 50% in math and abstract reasoning my total mark came out to top 15% which is not bad, however I didn't get in due to kids doing better than me (Like getting top 10% for everything). so in this scenario assume that I get top 10% for everything and in your opinion, with this portfolio, what is the lowest percentage I could get for me to pass into hurlstone/girraween.

(Also for evidence of my participation in badminton and clubs I gave emails from teachers, a snippet of my student cafe where a list of all the extra curricular I did is written and I screenshotted a picture of my timetable for my competitive badminton games -- however I did not get anything signed and I already submitted one of my applications and on top of that if they ask me to show more proof I can.)

My goal is girraween and hurlstone. What is the chance of me making it? Is it high, likely, even, depending on interview, low or the dreaded impossible? SORRY FOR THE YAPPING BTW I would appreciate so much if someone would reply and help!! tysm!

Your report does matter a lot and you do have a lot of exc but you have to make sure to do pretty good in hast as the exam is a major factor to whether you get accepted and you have a good chance as long as you keep studying for hastt

im kinda worried bc aren't those meant to be good to like, set people apart?
Im pretty sure that those subjects don't really set people apart, rather the edu test/ HAST and the interview will.

Btw does the interview determine whether you get in or is it like you've already been offered a place and they just wanna see who you are?

some aditional info: All badmington is in school, I also was in a school musical, I did debating as well and I participated in the swimming carnival twice. I also realised Student cafe doesn't give all the clubs I did so I had to add aditional evidence. Everything I gave and all extra curriculars and clubs were done from 2024 - 2025.

I have no idea, but I believe it has some impact on whether you get in or not. However I am no expert, if I did get an interview I would be super respectful and glaze them and have a personality where I value both education and creativity, showing that I am organized and ready to learn and take on opportunities and use this school for my benefit.
