ive actually been in sg the whole time so i was partially lying but this is what my friends have experienced and said:

obviously the edutest is available online as you already know. you can purchase them for a pretty high price online but i think if youre worried about the exam its pretty worth it. those packages were all my friend used to get in. there wasnt a lot of time to finish the questions for her on the actual day but its best to not leave anything blank like any other exam. bunch of yap but from what i hear it genuinely not hard. some people from my year were admitted with special consideration for other co-curriculars such as dance so they didnt exactly have outperform on the edutest. ive got a friend that said many people who apply for sg generally aim for better schools. she was on the reserve list with an above average and she got in just fine since most people who know they are capable of a superior do tend to go higher.

im generally just saying youd ofc have to study for the edutest and theres resources out there but theyre barred by crazy prices but it shouldnt matter if youre making good use out of them. if youre afraid of your scores failing you i guarantee that there will be people who fill up all the sg spots just to go transfer to some other school so youd be pushed up the list in no time. sorry if my response doesnt help as much, i havent had experience taking these sorts of exams before. good luck!

err I can't say, according to their websites, both Girraween and Penrith have classes open for Year 10, but according to my brother in Girraween (grad 2024), they almost always open a class for Year 11.

Girraween is picky. I got rejected because my "Behaviour Profile for your Year 9 report contains a number of "usually" and "sometimes"."

That was it. But also, Girraween is a better school. If your report is good, and you've studied for HAST, go for Girra.
If you're ready to feel abysmally worthless and that all your efforts consistently add to nothing, go for Penrith!

nsg definitely has a lower amount of applicatns applying as known of and i also applied last year and there were barely any, i would say there were quite a few fort street kids who tried for nsg. alot r trying for sghs. includng me, im not that keen though, reports r okay..

edutest is mostly about timing, so thats what really cuts out people when it comes to applying for these schools.

To do good in edutest you just need to be accurate and fast. Its a simple concept but you need practice to be able to do it. Honestly, the way to go is just doing practice exams.
