I did only extension 1 which i got 47/50

98 is quite far from a State Rank because many people get 100, let alone 98.

I am surprised that a 47/50 and a 98 in Extension 1 and Mathematics Advanced only yielded an ATAR of ~95.

Perhaps. I'm not familiar with the exact mark/percentile distributions in 2u - Matrix told me 98 = 99.7%, and for a cohort of 17k, it's two digits away from a state rank.

He did well in maths, probably not as well in the other subjects - easily explains the 95 ATAR.

I only did well in maths and my other subjects scaling are low (business studies, standard english and senior science) which i didnt do very well too.
