we did "don't dream it's over" by crowded house performed by myself on piano and a friend singing and it was pretty awesome.

we also did an alternate version of "Imagine" by John Lennon called imagine there's no millar (the name of our principal is mr millar)

imagine there's no millar
it's easy if you try
without him being round
there's noone to maintain school pride

imagine there's no speeches
no long assemblies
no missing out on lunchtimes
no "excuse me listen please"

(chorus) imagine all the people
waiting for the day
tha-at school is done
you may say that we're dreamers
but we're not the only ones
we know someday you'll join us
and the school will have some fun

imagine theres no teysie (deputy principal)
making children cry
a hardened hot headed veteran
wearing a cute pink tie

imagine there's no water
to feed our lovely grass
maybe then we could cross it
on our way to class

(chorus)

it was pretty damn sweet
I like that! :D

I wish we had done something similar

Haha, yellow_sub, that's awesome!

Oh, also for my graduation, I forgot to write that two Year 10s (? I think Year 10s...) composed and performed a song for us (one on the piano, the other singing). It was really nice. :)

For our formal (kind of had a stuff around assembly at the beginning of it) our year advisor wrote a poem about everyone in our year, and heaps of the embarrassing things we had done. It was really good, and extremely funny.

From the start of Year 7, to the end of Year 12, we've had 5 year advisors.

Hi all!
I was just wondering what people had for their Year 12 farewell songs?
Does anyone have any suggestions of good songs?
Anyone know what their year is choosing?
It's a big decision.

Our Graduation Song was the best everrr

Closing Time by Semisonic !!! =)

ST MARYS SENIOR HIGH CLASS OF 2007 !

*sighhhhhh

Closing time - time for you to go out, go out into the world.
Closing time - turn the lights up over every boy and every girl.
Closing time - one last call for alcohol, so finish your whiskey or beer.
Closing time - you don't have to go home but you can't stay here.

I know who I want to take me home.
I know who I want to take me home.
I know who I want to take me home.
Take me home...

Closing time - time for you to go back to the places you will be from.
Closing time - this room won't be open 'til your brothers or you sisters
come.
So gather up your jackets, and move it to the exits - I hope you have found
a
friend.
Closing time - every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.

Yeah, I know who I want to take me home.
I know who I want to take me home.
I know who I want to take me home.
Take me home...

Closing time - time for you to go back to the places you will be from...

I know who I want to take me home.
I know who I want to take me home.
I know who I want to take me home.
Take me home...

Closing time! - every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end...

we had two wonderful songs
one was a bit of a haha yay we're leaving finally - eye of the tiger. the boys' barbershop did it, with dance movements and all. it was hilarious
the other was our more serious song - and it was perfect: Invincible by Muse.

Follow through
Make your dreams come true
Don't give up the fight
You will be alright
'Cause there's no one like you in the universe ...

Do it on your own
It makes no difference to me
What you leave behind
What you choose to be
And whatever they say
Your soul's unbreakable

During the struggle
They will pull us down
But please, please
Let's use this chance
To turn things around
And tonight
We can truly say
Together we're invincible
Together we're invincible

we had opportunity by pete murray.

Hold on now your exits here
It's waiting just for you
Don't pause too long
It's fading now
It's ending all too soon

we had.. please remember - leann rimes and when we were leaving the hall we had goodbye to you - michelle branch, which was good but only went on for 10 seconds or so.
'walk it out' then came on. for some reason part of the year wanted it. :S luckily, i was the second person to leave so i heard it come on once i was at the door.. i just cringed. lol it really reminds me of this one freaky youtube clip.

<pointlessly long list of lyrics>
If we wanted lyrics, I'm sure we could have googled them for ourselves.

We wound up getting 'The End' by Nelly Furtado, although I didn't hear it because I was practically the first out of the hall as I ran down the aisle high-fiving everyone. (Y)

HIGH SCHOOL NEVER ENDS - bowling for soup...

"four years, you think for sure
thats all you got to endure
all the stuck up chicks all the total dicks
so superficial and immature

and then, you graduate,
you take a look around and you say 'hey wait!'
this is the same as where i js came from
i thought it was over
oh, thats just great..."

- We Go Together from Grease
- Stand By Me by Ben E King
- Wonderwall by Oasis
- Don't Want to Miss a Thing by Aerosmith (sentimental value haha)
