Trebla i'm yet to know who you are but if you're in top 10, you are probably in my region!

Besides that..with i guess exams, work steadily..dont rush because it will kill you in the end like i did with the common test. Scored an average 82%. Read the question properly, if possible decode what the question is saying and map out a solution if you can.

Some people may suggest otherwise but sometimes writing unnecessary working out will just slow you down.

HAHAHAHA LOL! Get this.
For my common test (Assessment task 1), I made it all the way to writing down a formula for the last question because I couldn't do it after rushing the whole 70 minute exam. (I got one mark just for writing the cosine rule formula for the last question!) I lost 10% of possible marks to unnecessary errors!

My mid-course exam on the other hand, I worked at a medium to fast pace fearing that incompletion might repeat itself again, but I finished with AN HOUR LEFT TO GO! It was a 2 hour exam and I finished it in half the time and checked it thoroughly TWICE for the rest of the hour! Everyone else finished with plenty of time to spare. I'm pretty confident I got 90+ percent in that test, compared to my shocking 84% (IMO) in the common test!

as a rule of thumb slide rule, nothing can be objectively viewed. it is always subjective :p

Postmodern BS. ;)

You know what I meant: that people should critically evaluate instead of blindly accept.

all my teachers say exams are never designed to be finished 100%. the first few minutes should be spent reading the paper, then the questions which you know of should be attempted, skipping the ones you don't know till the end if you have time.

my dad (who used to be a lecturer at ANU), told me teachers at secondary-high school level tend to put 5-10% "extension" questions at the back of the exam which are related to the topic but haven't been taught [or have, but not in depth]. that way the test canditates who have done extra studying are rewarded, while those who have done all the requirements will get a 90/95%, at maximum.

True m isk.
But each question is not clear as day is it?
It wouldn't be too wise to look at a say 5-6 Mark question and not know how to approach it, hence why you should be able to plot roughly the easiest way to answer the question.
