The title pretty much says it all. Assuming they don't nitpick and individually count every word in everyone's major work (which I'm pretty sure they don't do, but correct me if I'm wrong) how likely are people to be caught if they're like 200 words over or under?

I wouldn't take any chances. If you do get a great mark, they usually count the words to make sure you've met specifications (or so I've been told).

I'm writing a script, no word count :D

I know that's why they give a range. I went to an EX2 Day, and if they catch you going over - you get zero.

I went to one of these, they guy said that if it's only like under 100 over, they wouldn't worry about it, even if they check...

Mine was 7900 but I culled so much stuff out of today that was just irrelevant filler and it's just under 7400, but cause the range is 6000-8000 that's fine :)
