Will band 4 destroy my hopes for a good uai... ? (1 Viewer)

Im looking at a band 4 ish for english now. (screwed my AOS, prob wont do any better in paper2)
Roughly been getting 60-70% at school.

Im expecting Band 5 for Ext2 math, ext1 math and chem. Maybe a 6 for bio.

SAM gives a pretty high estimate.
But i heard that the estimations were really off track for the low bands.

Has anyone ever gotten good uai with a crap english mark?

why didnt they make maths compulsory instead? its definitely more useful

sarapa, i totally agree, they should have made maths compulsory rather than english, if they were to make any subject compulsory (which they shouldn't) .

But why do you expect a band5 for ext2 maths. It scales so much and most people end up getting 90(scaled) . I've been getting 80/120 ish when i've been doing past papers, and i'd have a feeling you've been doing better than that.
DW band4 in english wont really affect you that much. Maybe stopping you from getting 98 uai lol.

It sounds like it's definitely possible for you to get 90!

My sister got an 80 in english and a 75-ish in DT and still got 93.65! It's very possible!

My brother got 78 in english 78 in Ext 2 92 in ext 1 and 90 in chem and 88 in physics and got a UAI of 95.55
