It aligns worse than advanced, but aligning does not affect atar (can provide proof)

It scales the same as advanced (can provide proof)

So you can't use these as your arguments. Why is it considered so bad?

The people in your class are worse meaning if you don't get Rank 1 then say goodbye to your moderated assesment mark.

So, you have two subjects.

One is called Mythological and Transitional Studies, and the other is called Atheoretical Studies

You hear that Mythological and Transitional Studies has 1 in 120,000 chance of someone getting a band 6, and it only occurs every 4th year. And 99% of the cohort get a band 2 or less.

Whereas, Atheoretical Studies has 60% of the cohort each year getting a band 6, whilst 40% get a band 4 or higher.

I put it to you, which would you choose?

What do you mean aligning does not affect the ATAR? Of course it does. UAC get your HSC marks don't they?

Raw exam mark is used to calculate ATAR, not aligned mark.
nope mate..they have to align it...They have to make it fair as 4u will be harder the lets say PDHPE.. and a 90/100 in pdhpe would be like 80/100 and a 70/100 in 4u would be 80/100..hypothetically..thats the process of aligning basically. It's just putting out how what mark is a band 4,5,6 etc evaluating the difficulty of the exam.

Then do it.

It's like arguing.
WHY DO PEOPLE CALL ME A VIRGIN???

I've had sex before (can provide proof)
Girls talk to me (can provide proof)

It's ineffectual and doesn't further the argument whatsoever. Saying you have proof but not providing it doesn't mean that the arguments against it are suddenly invalid. If everyone believes that standard is 'so bad' the onus is on you to prove otherwise. You tell us why Standard has no detrimental effects on an atar, and then let people rebut off that.

3.2 Marks used in the ATAR
calculations
The marks used in the calculation of the ATAR are derived
from the following two marks provided by the Board
„ a raw examination mark
„ a raw moderated school assessment – these are school
assessments that have been moderated using the raw
examination marks.

When they refer to a raw mark, they are not talking about raw as in not yet aligned, but unscaled, aka the marks you're given from results day. These 'raw' marks are then turned into scaled mark out of 50, which is aggregated in the calculation of the ATAR.

The raw mark is indeed your raw exam mark, not the mark on results day. This is the mark before aligning with the standards.
