I love this thread.

In light of neither side being able to present a convincing argument as to which is the more ethical profession, everybody must now become doctor-lawyer hybrids. :hammer:
I wasn't here to make a case for the ethical superiority of either side. I would've played devil's advocate against anyone who stood to the extreme for docs or lawyers.

You could like become a lawyer and marry a doctor and collectively gain utility to offset the evilness of one profession.

In the end you'll both wish you did B Arts and became a dole cheat.

Mel I've just spent 8 hours of every day of the last 3 years studying maths and frankly I haven't got a chance at UMAT because I fear contact with other homo sapiens sapiens more than I fear getting a UAI in the magnitude of 101

Now this is problematic because I face imminent disownership by my entire extended family and clan, including my dead ancestors, if I should fail to uphold the eternal family tradition of entering into a medical degree (that goes back 1 generation to when my parents came to Australia to escape communism)

in any case as a fellow identically challenged asian, what would you recommend me do?

No no.. by doing that you'll bring the gender divide into the discussion. Males v females, wives v husbands.

Well, men are obviously superior to women.

Men make better doctors because it is hareem for a woman to touch a man.

Men make better lawyers because they can be taken seriously and can be trusted.

Don't forget that the testament of a man is worth that of 2 women

so if you wanted a woman to represent you you'd need 2, and logically need to pay twice the fee, which is just ridiculous, no one would do that

And in addition to that, in Genesis (in the Old Testament), Eve is described as deriving from "Adam's rib bone". Thus Man > Woman.

Conclusion is correct ay?

All of your arguments are useless as none of you have taken into account the gay and lesbian debate, including gay marriage.

wow, what a thread of idiots.

There are many crap doctors, there are many lawyers who work with good intentions, there are many people who like to talk themself up (ari and markzada), and there is much BS in this thread.

Seriously grow up.

I tried out for medicine (got an interview) and the interviewers said I was a "psychopath" and "potentially dangerous" and gave me a referral to a psychiatrist who specialised in antisocial personality disorder.

Wtf.
