i mean tbh i've always wanted to do programming but then i felt like it would be a waste of my atar to only go for comp sci
so i was like might as well go into actl

You are SMARTER if you can do a math degree from usyd over UNSW where you literally only have to rote learn the course

because people are scared of doing a course without a clearly defined job at the end. actuary may be boring as shit but it has a clearly defined degree -> job that you don’t get it something like maths, even though maths is plenty employable if ur good

yeah but compsci is very demanding cause By the Grace of Jesus I do it and legit have to do like 3 different worksheets with tests everyweek and programming assessments that do your head in but doesn't have as high an atar as acturial or whateves.

i'd hate to be impounded by that type of stress
