Why can't I view folder files when I open my USB folder? (1 Viewer)

And when i try to save something in Word, the folders do not appear in the window that pops up. But they're there, I just can't find/view them. This just changed one day without me doing anything. Can anyone help??

maybe, for some reason unknown to me, they appear hidden when the stick is inserted... open the drive (Windows window), click tools, folder options, view, and put a check mark in "Show hidden files and folders"

Download data recovery software to get it back.

Next time buy a quality USB drive. An extra $20 or so dollars more than makes up for lost data

dont get a $10 cheapo you bought from some garage sale.
get a decent usb.
engineers get by with 4GB+ Sandisk Titanium.
Light and strong.
if you accidentally throw it into a fatigue testing machine you could recover it before it factures maybe.

I dont think its the quality of the USB, i have one that is missing its casing but it still works fine.
