which years hsc ex 2 is the hardest? (1 Viewer)

2007 is really easy, not sure about the hardest one?
also, does anyone know where i can find solution for 2001 and 2002?

1992 deffinately. My teacher made us do that year recently and he said its one of the hardest he's seen. Question 6 and 7 seem impossible at first, and still do lol

Good luck if you try it. I got 52 when i done it which was about the average for that year lol. not that high eh? hahah

yeah, i will have a try.

they dont have it on the bos website, the oldest is 1995.

Hardest imo is 2000 while 199x seems generally harder than 2001~2007

52? That must have been pretty hard. I wonder if anyone got 118+/120 in 1992

i thought the 1993 hsc was incredibly hard.. by contrast, i reckon 2006 and 1999 were about as easy as a 4unit test can get.

ur right about the 93 paper.. it had, at 46.7 the lowest raw mean in that era, but the was the only time a perfect score was achieved; 120/120.... the student was Anthony Henderson, Sydney Grammar.... google the name to see what he's achieved since

lol i googled it, saw a few things....
but 46.7 as the raw mean does sound prettty low lol, i wonder what the people setting the exam were thinking.

He came equal first with someone else in 1992...check the stats on the Board of Studies.
The hardest paper would have to be 1989, in particular Q8b). There's even a document about it lol:

"Zero candidates in 1989 got it out and that year had one of the largest candidatures for 4 unit in it's entire history, largely due to the super-generous scaling policy for that year for 4 unit maths.
The examiners got back at the 4 unit cohort (and the Technical Scaling Committee) by putting this question in the exam.
James Coroneos (by far the most prolific of all hsc maths authors) had this to say about it:
``This question 8(b) was, in my opinion, far too long and too difficult to be included in the paper as a fair test of the 4 Unit Course.''
If you can do the 1989 4unit HSC Q8b question, you should do well in any Extension 2 exam"

I just did 2000 and it seemed quite a bit harder than 2001-2007, although I haven't done any of the 1990's ones yet.

I think the general trend is that 4u exams are getting easier, which is a good thing =]
