To all that criticise that "this is an Australian Post and soccer shouldn't be in this pool" and the likes, Australia is the second most multicultural country in the world and it's very popular here.
We mightn't win the world cup (which then you'll probably all change and start appreciating the sport!) but especially in girls and womens divisions it's huge in Australia!

no offense

but football is the easiest game to play and learn (thats why everyone plays it), so really its like a lazy sport. compared to rugby where physical training and co-ordination with your team is absolutely necessary. similarl to cricket.

Best sports are:
Union and Cricket, Golf,

basketball... Can't stand any type of football (and no i am not talking about soccer there). bball just doesn't get the same media attention as any other sport... Also I like it when you bounce a ball, you know where it is going to go...

but where is the challenge in netball (no physical contact), shooting is the same as basketball (easier becuase the ball is lighter, thus the backboard makes it too easy), and they keep pausing when they get the ball. It sorta like chess i don tknow how but it reminds of me chess?

HAHAHAHHAAAAAAA....sorry mate, but which soccer(football) team r u watchin whilst they train?!

we're near a rugby club, n fuckkk...we train so much harder, so much longer, we're alot fitter, im not sayin they dont train hard, jus we train harder, and we have 2, coz our compettition means we have 2 be...meannnnnnnnnnning there are other teams (soccer) who train jus as ahrd if not harder than us

n yeh, its easy 2 play..BASICALLY..but once ur past the whole, kick n chase game the skill needed outdus league rugby (rugby is very tactical, i know...). i heard sumthing about soccer coaches teaching heaps of league n union goal kickers how 2 kick :p hehehe...man, i convert from the goal (try?) line on the sideline...n no, no union or league kickers have gotten close (ok, im bragging, but its cool, n always shuts those up who reckon its easy 2 play soccer) n yet, i find socecr harder...

all those kicks andrew johns dus on the field r fairly easy 4 a decent soccer player, but how come u dont c it more often in league or union? maybe it takes gr8 hand/foot/eye co-ordination :p

sorry man, im not tryin 2 bag union or league, coz they're gr8 sports, i'll sit down n watch those games ne day...but soccer is alot harder to play at a competitive level...lol...sorry mate...have a good day :uhhuh:

how is it?

soccer only invovles kicking and therefore they can specialiseon that, thats all they do, they cant catch a ball, thats why they coach on kicking for league or unions. Ever seen em coach how to catch or pass or even dodge while running. Look yeah the players are good buts because anyone will be good when they play for there whole lives. so basically said they are good kickers, well if you being kicking for a lifetime course you wouldbe. Of course they are exceptional that are really good in multiple sports.

Try tell a soccer to play union, they wouldnt stand a chance. THey need shin pads to keep them safe! i dont understand why they need shin pads, what are the soccer players so retarded they kick the other players shins after years and years o fpractice. I am saying that soccer is a popular sport becuase anyone can play it. Nothing else. A 3 year old can play, but can he play union or cricket or even hockey no chance.

Any sport is a lot harder to play at a professional (what you think soccer is the only hard sport in the world) level. Another reason it is popular it is one the earliest established sports.

:vcross: It takes skill and a lifetime of practice to be able to play soccer, you need good coordination with your feet and also to control the ball

yeh, but i dont have ne problem with the other sports....im also big enuff to wipe a fair amount out, n fast enuff 2 outsprint most halfbacks...n the dodging bit? come on mannnnnnnnnnn, we're playin a sport which is made up of foot n body control...dodging is easy shit, theres no ball between ur legs to move, ur holding the thing!

n...yeh...the reason y we dont play union, is coz we know soccer n know how 2 exploit our knowledge :D union, is complicated 2 start with, the rules n shit, but afta that it wouldnt b tooooooooooooo hard...neways, this is a dumb arguement, coz they're different games..n yes soccer is easier 2 play basically, but 2 become really good, its fuckin hard

but any sport is like that, to be really good at swimming of gold its not easy. I suppose i didnt incorporate the rules, yes soccer simpler. basically i am trying to explain its popularity, no matter where u go even in India (perhaps not but still) soccer will be most popular sport.

Sport like volleyball are discriminating, you have to be tall (quite tall) to be a stand a chance of making it into a team. Basketball is alrite they have few short players for speed. But soccer is kinda pushing it, unless they change the rules suppose the goalie cant use his hands and play as anyother player. Would that change much?

i think it would be interesting to see what happens at professional level. Another thing about soccer for its popularity is that you can play rain hail or shine unlike many other sports.

i am not sure wat you mean by the dodging thing?

ahhh...the dodgin thing...right, we have 2 dodge the opponents but alsoi control the ball, so not only are u moving ur feet u have to take the ball with u, basiaclly, i reckon a soccer players footwork would be quicker, therefore being able 2 shift bodyweight slightly quicker..obviously not all would b like this, but wouldnt that mean a soccer player could dodge a bit easier if they can move their feet and body weight quicker? jus a question....

n i dont quite get ur point on soccer "pushing it"...?? n yeh, if the goalie couldnt use his hands...there'd be heaps more goals :uhhuh: and u wouldnt need as much skill, coz it'd be harder for goalies 2 get to the ball...n seriously, whos gonna put their actual body behind a ball kicked as hard as it can be :p considering how hard some guys kick the ball in club comps...i cant imagine the top flight dudes kicking ne softer :p neways....

yeh...i c ur poitn now...sorta...alls good, but like everything every1 is different n can neva c eye to eye with everything, thats wot makes the world good, and life betta ;)

cheers
