These are my units:

Analytical reading and writing
Texts and traditiond

I have lectures, tutorials, workshops and pracs. Should i get just four books for each unit?

I would suggest 4 books for each subject. If you can, get those notebooks with the divider tabs in there so you can have a section for Tutorials/Workshops/Pracs but not need extra books :)

I would get them only if you nerd them. If all your subjects have 4 classes, then buy the books with divider tabs. If you only have a lecture and a tute, I wouldn't bother.

Agree with ilikecats, divider books work miracles! :) I tend to just use a normal exercise book, I just label crap as tutorial, lecture or seminar.

I bought a 400 page lecture pad from officeworks; do you think that would be okay?

I think 400 pages will be more than enough :D
