I've always liked science as a subject (except biology, hate that so much) so this of course fuels my interest into getting into a university degree which contains such content including phys chem or math. The thing is looking at the cut-offs there are so many different pathways such as mecha, electrical, geo, civil, etc. I'm looking for a field that sustains my interest for physics and chem but also the job is in high demand, any suggestions?

Whats chem eng like and how are the job prospects?
im not excatly sure what its like but here is the rough outline (at UNSW): http://www.engineering.unsw.edu.au/chemical-engineering/3040-be-in-chemical-engineering

in terms of job prospects (i was very concerned about this too) but for engineers there are "always" opportunities. chemical, petro, mecho are always in high demand because well not many people do those whereas degrees like civo and stuff are "over flooded" with grads which might make it a bit difficult to find a job straight out of uni

I have a few threads in this section and the linked section below of how I was undecisive originally:

http://community.boredofstudies.org/137/faculties-engineering-built-environment/

A few threads in particular:

http://community.boredofstudies.org...uilt-environment/310565/engineering-unsw.html

http://community.boredofstudies.org/585/engineering/310668/engineering.html

There are a few others which I can't find at the moment but are dug up i those sections.

Its hard being able to make a decision and not turning back. I haven't turned back since the day I had to decline a big offer to do electrical now.

In saying that you will need to research what you want to do most. Also, if you make an informed decision where you have done all your research and have asked the right questions applicable to you then you won't need to ever turn back once you start your course.

There's no core in your first year? Oh.
Science has one of the most broad possible combinations of courses to pick throughout the 3/4 years you do it. The only core I think is MATH11X1.
