Where to buy suit for formal? (1 Viewer)

Well i have my year 10 formal coming up in about 6 weeks and I am looking to buy a suit, my budget is around $400. I am 6 ft 2" and lean if that helps and I know most people will say its just a one off thing you might as well rent a suit but I want to buy one as most suits cost around $150-200 to rent so I might as well spend a bit more and own one, and I will most likely be going to two different formals so owning a suit would be beneficial.

yeah YD definitely has very nice formal clothing, highly recommend it as it's not the typical kind of formal clothing that everyone gets. Very fashionable.

Myers or DJ's should have a good collection, but they might run for a bit more.

suit doesn't really matter; if i were you, i'd get a basic all-purposes black suit that you can use again and again, except you should get it tailored for a perfect fit. with suits, fit is everything, don't forget.

You can move up elsewhere afterwards but I'd start at Myers or DJ's to get an idea of what you like because elsewhere you'll be harangued by salespeople the moment you look at a suit.

go to DFO and visit some of the stores there.

Politix and Oxford was on sale, 799 i got it for 400, a whole suit too !
