As for the other test:
Overall, the PoliticsForum quiz considers you an individually-orientated, materialist, small-government, internationalist, free-trade, non-absolutist, kind of person, who doesn't sound like a Marxist.
These characteristics would put you in the overall category of
libertarian.
What's interesting are the percentages, so allow me to post them as well:
You scored 9 out of 100 on a scale of Individual vs Social. This means that politically you are less likely to value the need for group actions and group benefit over individual enterprise and benefit.
*
1% of test takers were more individual than you.
* 98% of test takers were more social than you.
You scored 66 out of 100 on a scale of Theist vs Materialist. This means that politically you are more likely to believe that religion and spirituality are superstitions that should not inform political debate.
* 57% of test takers were more theist than you.
* 42% of test takers were more materialist than you.
polok's note: This was interesting. I was rather neutral in religious questions, except for the seperation of church and state... where I strongly agreed. As far as religion goes, it's an individual's right, and choice. The government has no place in religion. Perhaps being neutral in some questions meant I was just placed in the centre?
You scored 69 out of 100 on a scale of Big Government vs Small Government. This means that politically you are more likely to believe that government should keep out of legislating social policies, leaving such decisions to individuals.
* 74% of test takers were more big government than you.
* 25% of test takers were more small government than you.
polok's note: I'm surprised with the percentages here. I didn't get a high score to small government, but still only 25% of people think government should be smaller. It seems maybe we're in an age where people need to be told what to do and think, rather than work it out for themselves?
You scored 72 out of 100 on a scale of Nationalist vs Internationalist. This means that politically you are more likely to favour international bodies over national ones.
* 75% of test takers were more nationalist than you.
* 23% of test takers were more internationalist than you.
polok's note: I thought percentages would be similar to this. Perhaps those 23% of test takers are Eurocentric, and the 75% are mainly Americans or Eurosceptic?
You scored 92 out of 100 on a scale of Protectionist vs Free Trader. This means that politically you are more likely to favour free trade over protectionist policies.
* 92% of test takers were more protectionist than you.
* 7% of test takers were more pro free trade than you.
You scored 71 out of 100 on a scale of Absolutist vs Non Absolutist. This means that politically you are less likely to believe that there is an absolute truth that may guide your ideological beliefs.
* 91% of test takers were more absolutist than you.
* 7% of test takers were more non-absolutist than you.
You scored 52 out of 100 on a scale of Controlled Market vs Liberal Market. This means that politically you are neither more nor less likely to believe that there is need for government regulation of industry.
* 73% of test takers were more controlled market thinkers than you.
* 26% of test takers were more liberal market thinkers than you.
polok's note: I actually thought the number would be a little higher. Though I did say trade unions were necessary, and there should be a minimum wage, but then I also said that corporations should be able to hire and fire at whim (it's up to the trade union to fight this if they feel it's wrong, not the government). The percentages were also surprising, considering I'm in the centre
and I'm in the top 27%.
You scored 69 out of 100 on a scale of Marxist vs Non-Marxist. This means that politically you are less likely to follow the philosophies of Marx.
* 92% of test takers were more Marxist than you.
* 7% of test takers were more non-Marxist than you.
polok's note: Why is that number low? I don't follow Marx at all.
I'd be interested in seeing some opinions on this, if you want to PM me or reply with it?
