I've had my Sony Ericsson K750i for a few months, but I feel that due to the fast rate of technological improvements, phones get replaced within a few years if not stolen, sold or any other reason.

I've had my Sony Ericsson T610 for 2 years. It's THE shittest phone evar.

I'm gonna get a new one for Christmas, which is when the contract expires anyway. I don't know how often one is supposed to change phones - it's been years since I cared about whether or not mine was fashionable. As long as it works I'll use it.

I just got a new Sony Ericsson K610i because my last Panasonic broke. I'm not too sure why some people spend tonnes of money on getting a new phone every couple of months because its got some new feature / looks better than their current phone.

If it makes phone calls, and receives phone calls, it does everything a phone is supposed to do! :p

Then some people should not replace their Nokia 3310's then .... oh wait ... people like the cameras & colour screens these days.

Quite a few people I know haven't replaced them. A sparky I know still uses it too because they're so much more sturdier. I still have mine as well :) I use it for experimenting with SMS control.

Having a camera and colour screen is one thing, but spending $600 on a new phone because the phone they got last week is not "in" anymore, is what we're talking about.

i bought my brother's 6210i back in april because he was getting a new one and i hated my old phone which i'd had on a 2yr orange contract (shit coverage, crap phone). all bar my orange phone (which i didnt pay the bills for) have been hand-me-downs from dad/my brother - never had a need to get a new phone

i've had my nokia 6230i for about a year now, yeah it makes calls, sends sms, got colour screen & pretty alrightish 1.3mp camera (...wouldnt be saying this in a few more months...) but problem is that i get bored of it too quickly... and now i feel like to waste more money on a new flip phone :mad1:

i remember when i got my first colour phone ages before (siemens mc60), i was like: woohoo! this thing is gonna last forever on me! ...it retired around 8 months later

when the technology has advanced enough that you're missing out with the old phone or when it no longer works. my oldest phone could only hold 100 numbers, couldn't put multiple numbers under one name which pissed me off no end. it also stopped working properly. so i upgraded.

Fuck yeah, me too. It started rattling when I forcefully threw it against the ground last week though, so maybe a new one soon.

it's a 6230i, dumbass :p

Anyhow, I happen to upgrade phones quite frequently.

Went from that 6230i to a K750i (which I've now lost) to a 6234. Realised that Nokia still > S-E. I'll stick with this for a while.

Probably every 6 months or so.

btw:

There are privacy laws in most countries for camera phones to must have a shutter sound when taking photos.

I don't ever want them to. A friend of mine constantly takes photos of herself, and when the shutter goes off - it's priceless to see her quickly glance around to see if anyone saw her taking the photo.

I've had a SE k700i for 2 years now - getting a new phone soon due to the k700i going senile. I ring one number and in the calls it comes up as someone else. I recieve messages and it doesn't recognise the number, even if it's that exact number in the address book. Plus it's slow.

So function over fashion.
