Brought - A harddrive larger than 40 gig. Also, posters would have been nice the first time around, the college walls seemed really bare.

Knew - That cute girl in my law lectures.

haha- even the romance advice is useful!

I definately have to get myself one of those plug in hard drives, esp taking files from laptop to the print room.

Good advice- keep them coming!

My advice as far as a HDD goes is to wait till you get to canberra and go to a computer fair, pick up a HDD and an enclosure and assemble it yourself. You will save more than 50% on buying a maxtor/etc. Don't get less lan 160Gb.

Get a thumb drive for the printing.

^Very true.... fortunately uni is a great place to meet people.

Unfortunately the cute girl in all Ben Wellings lectures is only interested in Ben Wellings.... a word of advice from a mate who just finnished a contemporary europe major.

bring extension cords/ longer network cables and power boards because there are often only two single power points in a college room, and not anywhere near where you want them. i used two power boards, and a 5m network cable, 1m wasn't long enough.

and definitely stuff to put on your walls, and a brightly coloured doona cover helps. college blankets are scary.

Knew: Textbooks are generally a waste of money; the walls at college are paper thin!

It may depend on the college/hall. At Fenner - Yes. In fact you need to bring your own doona, pillow, etc.

Yeah i think its the same everywhere unless youre an international student = check the bed size though, you dont wanna try to fit single sheets on a king single
