Do a design and post it up you stupid cunt. Then, if you can possibly pull off something so good, buy a few dozen cans of spray paint, gain access to a high security train yard, and put it up with security guards looking for you. If you dont have the balls to do that, do it in your backyard. I guarantee you will never produce something as good.
He may not be able to graffiti public property but he can write poetry, run a business, and do many other things which require a lot more 'talent' than writing your name, no matter how craftily stylised it is.

Firstly, dont believe everything you hear on the news about the incredible waste of tax payers money cleaning graffiti off. THey claim 250million a year on trains alone. Let me give you a hint, it takes about 30seconds with a hose to remove a panel. If this wastes 250million dollars a year, then blame ineffective government. Blame the fucking government for wasting billions on cross city tunnels and unused city - airport train links. How much does it cost to fund a war? A hell of a lot more than it does to fund an anti graffiti team to walk around a train with a hose. I bet if Picasso or Monet did an artwork on a train every single person out there would be praising him for his genius and innovation. Why do you get any more pissed off at a COLOURFUL self expression than a blank, plain, stone cold and unindividual wall, a canvas for the montonous and detached society which we live in today?
1) No, a hose doesn't just wash off paint, markers, etc.
2) Why do you keep comparing the fact that you're breaking the law to mistakes the government works. Yes, they make mistakes, but they make those mistakes with hopes of bettering our lives. I don't agree with the government in a lot of things, but what they do has more integrity that writing your name on a train.
3)Yes, if Picasso and Monet did artworks like that I would praise them. However, what you guys are doing isn't great art. It's your bloody 'gang's' name. It doesn't look very attractive. Not many people can produce something as grand as what Monet painted, yet a lot of the gangs seem to produce tags quite easily. Talent? doubt it.

Once again, I dont recall saying its allright to commit crimes, but in the society we live in, I think you need to prioritise, and then think about your own experience. And you class all of the eastern suburbs as being of a higher socio economic background, yet there are pockets of poverty in all suburbs, there are housing commisions and kids without a future in all suburbs. Despite this, most of the clothes they wear are fake, or at the best, stolen from a corporate monopoly such as David Jones. But then, i never said they are all from out west, or poor, disadvantaged people. There are instances otherwise, as with any social group.
1) yes, there are pockets of poor housing, however, in areas such as Edgecliff and Hunters Hill I sincerely doubt there really is 'poverty'. Living in such areas gives you access to a higher level of education, thus they do have a future. In fact, I'll take a gander and say that 95% of Australians do have a future if they strive to fulfil their goals. Unfortuantely, this does not seem to happen with some people as being in gangs, stealing, etc. is the easy way out.

There is so many fucking points against me that i cant even rememeber what everyone has said, but ill try n get to a couple of them

I dont remember comparing the talent required to produce a panel to 'smart', maybe I did, correct me if im wrong. There is a different kind of intelligence here, to do with accessing places that most people would never work out how to gain entry to, to use paint cans in such a way that it doesnt look like crap, to sketch it up in the first place. Too bad if you cant look out the window, enjoy the view from the outside, and what will you see through the window anyway? A modern, industrialised landscape, a traffic jam, a pollution filled sky? Immerse yourself in your thoughts on the journey, or sit in a different fucking carriage. How often does it happen anyway.

Litany, you can just shut the fuck up, that last argument made no sense. I still can't work out where you stand on that point. And the last reply before this, i forget who by, but i think it was by someone with a name as original as "princess something or other", I won't dignify that with a response.

Now for another round of replies pointing out every minor problem with my argument/post/point of view..........

Talent, and its perception, depends on the person, and will change on a person to person basis, and what each individual society views as talent, based on what they have drilled into them day after day. What I will say is that i think every person so far has failed to understand what I have said, and you all turn things that I've 'said' against me, when in fact I most likely havn't mentioned them. This results in me having to reply to points which i never raised in the first place, but think about some of the things I've said, 'cause I'm sure that I've at least made some of you think about things, even if you still disagree with me.
I don't agree with some of the things lads do, yet I will defend some of their actions.
I don't agree with the fact that everyone hates graffiti, when there is so much else wrong in the world.
I don't assert that every lad is smart, rich, poor, stupid, untalented, talented or otherwise. I simply say that to do a majority of graffiti, there is an unappreciated amount of talent and SKILL required.
As with everything in the world, some people give the rest a bad name, and yes there is a lot of crap on the streets. Toy stuff, as it is called. Childish looking stuff, with no real talent. This is a result of graffiti becoming less of an underground art and more of a mainstream fad, let's just thank the commercialisation of this artform for that.
Don't ignore what I say, and don't judge a book by it's cover. Get to know a good writer, even one which is NOT a lad, believe me they do exist, and then maybe you will have your one sided and prejudiced views changed. Peace.

The things you say don't make me think. It's possible to glorify anyone:
'That bank robber had so much talent. He singlehandedly managed to steal millions from a banking institution that was profiting from the war in Iraq. What a hero!'
'That murder who killed the prime minster: such a hero. He murdered the man who murdered others in Iraq.'

Focus on one point if you want, but i think that if someone did rob a bank, regardless of the banks profiting from any conflict, I think they have talent if they do it, especially without the use of violence. It requires a skill to do. It requires skill to do anything. Any form of any activity, to participate in that requires a skill.

Anything can be glorified, equally anything can be denigrated.

It is all about perspective.

Oh, and when I said 'that I may have made some of you think', please don't take the approach that I was referring to you and you only. Other people read this, and perhaps other people have more of an open mind than you. Fair enough if I have not made you think.... I don't think anyone could achieve that.

----------------"Basically, when I look around, I see us living in a modern day Babylon, full of temptation, sin, distraction, corruption, injustice, and misguided fools being mentally enslaved. It seems to me the only way to wake people up from this kind of numbness is to destroy what they know: Their business, their places of commerce and their biggest place of gathering, the cities! Put it on their trains, on the lines they take to work, on their rooftops, on their highways, on anything just to make some people realize that culture isn't lost and that, at the very least, a small group of kids is fighting to keep it alive."--------------

Oh wow, congratulations.

For one, by writing that, you are responding.
Two, don't blame me for your distinct inability to understand simple english.
Three, the points made in your posts which you use to validate your arguments are paradoxical at best, so why don't YOU shut the fuck up? [:

Take your own advice, sunshine.

See everyone jumps on a different point.
I'm just trying to put a point of view across, and seeing how many of you all just write back with stupid responses which you haven't considered, I think I've done pretty well to keep mine clear and easy to understand. But Littany, you stupid cunt, you miss the whole point of everything im saying. Maybe I miss the whole point of everything I'm saying...... But i doubt it.
Oh, and for the record I'm not a lad.. I don't pretend to try and confuse you all with incredible arguments, I just say things as I see them. But I simply make it my goal to live my life and not close my mind to every opportunity for a bit of fun. See the funny side of life, break out of your shell, and don't have a cry if someone paints your train, bitch.

lol?

I'm not the one who decides to throw insults at me, nor am I the one with the narrow-minded view. Read your own posts.
