as far as i know, telstra's the only isp that counts uploads.

yeh, uploads contribute to your limit, and once you've reached it, your net slows down dramatically.

as for your internet speed, you can download a program called netlimiter - www.netlimiter.com

check it out... it's pretty simple to use, but it does have a trial period.

Most clients should be able to let you limit your upload anyway.

Anyone who uses Azareus should try BitComet. It has a few less features, but is a hell of a lot faster. (Maybe it's just me, but I really hate Java)

I did. Seems a hell of alot slower.
Doesn't scrape half the seeds/peers that Az does. Gets to speed faster too.

All of this 'my client is faster' is kinda useless for ADSL users though, cos it doesn't take much to max that connection out...

Ah I wasn't talking about faster speeds sorry, but I meant in general usage. For speeds, I recommend Bit Tornado, but BitComet is faster in terms of the way it runs on the computer.

Oh ok.
Mine seems fine running but BitComet does seem to load/run faster from what I remember.

I use Bitlord for my everyday torrent needs. It's configurable, portable and neat. I tried lots of other clients including Azureus (which didn't recognise my open port) etc..
I find that Bitlord works the best on my machine.

Didn't you say it screws up your router?

Also 220kbps is almost nothing (unless you're on 256K :p)...sort of misleading wouldn't you say?
