optus was fine last year, but then we had to pay over 3 months that we weren't using after we'd left the house.
Optus right now are pretty crap value.

TPG for downloads (150gb still going I think?)
Internode for reliability.

Go to

http://whirlpool.net.au/

and just do a Broadband Search.

Should come up with a few good ones.

Make sure you do some research on them as well, before you decide to go with that company.

The new plans however suck major balls, and they count uploads now too!
(on the old plans atleast)
Fusion's worst..if you go over your dl limit they dont cap you anymore, they charge you 15c a mb..so basically if you go over your cap by 2gbs its +$300 to your bill!
Optus FTMFL.

internode looks good.

TPG gets a lot of shit from the forums on whirlpool. is it justified?

it's fair bit cheaper, and monthly contract right?

I don't mind getting bundled either, but if it's that much more expensive then we can do without a home phone

yea if i were u i'd go with internode. Tpg kinda fucked us around with our contract cancellation (we eventually got the money back) but I'm sure that's not the norm, it was the cheapest and we never had any huge troubles even out where I live, so they're probably worth looking at too.

VoIP is basically a phone line which runs using the internet and gives you cheaper calls and shit.

I heard its like 10cents for as long as you want. And thats really cheap.

I don't use it myself, but a few family members and friends use it.
