I want to read something , i read ( tried reading ) LOTR , but i found it too long and kinda boring . Is there any book that is

- short ( 300-500 pages )
- Interesting all the way

Also i tried reading the david eddings series about the mystical dudes but i kinda lost interest . Any suggestions ??

I was going to suggest Eddings because that's what I started with. Oh well.

I'll go with my usual suggestion. The Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb is brilliant. Try those three.

you could read stuff like matthew reilly.

sort of like action movies in book form -- cheap and trashy, but good for what they are, and don't claim to be anything else

I'd recommend to you The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams.

But it depends... that's sci-fi-ish (though nothing like Arthur C. Clarke - more like a sci-fi Terry Pratchett).

Perhaps you could try Animal Farm. That's a good one as well. Very short too.

narnia is not THAT good when you're old, james patterson is fairly trashy, and hitchhikers guide is FAR FAR FAR too long for a first time reader (as gold as it is)

as long as it is, i would personally recommend catch 22- every page is fantastic.

I thought Hitchhiker's Guide was only 140 pages long? Granted, if you include the rest of the 'trilogy' it is long, but the first also stands on its own merits.

Narnia is great fantasy when you're a young kid, like about 8? I heard they're making a movie of "The lion, the witch & the wardrobe"!

How about Raymond.E.Fiest? Do you have a specific genre?

Yeah, it was Marsden. He's doing a follow up series now, set after the war. The Ellie Chronicles.

Each is entitled to their own opinion Saul.

Anyway, read harry potter, and especially the third one cause that's the best.

Just keep picking books of the shelves until you find one you like.
