i'm not a "Ohmygod HSC I have to drop my entire life" kinda person.

I did a lot in the beginning, then I sorta stopped. For some reason that's beyond me I actually got better when this happened.

lolworthy ?

Far less than even I expected 12 months ago, when it comes down to it. Hilariously, my UAI expectations have actually increased since 12 months ago. Probably when I realised the extent to which scaling helps.
too bad UAIs are based on raw markkkkkkkkkkkkkks... SAM appears to use scaled but just because its easier because everyone gets their scaled marks, then enters them in SAM.

So has mine, even though I did subjects that don't scale well. I've gone from aiming for a bare 80 (and having no confidence that I could achieve that) to seriously thinking that 95 is a possibility.

Not too much at all.

With my level of effort, I didn't expect to top all my subjects save one.

However, Philosophy was easily the best part.

Furthermore, obviously not 100% effort, more around <50%.

yeah i don't think anyone can honestly say they gave 100% the whole year, it's too hard to maintain that level of effort without burning out
so
parties it is <3

yeah, it really depends what u consider as 100%, of course not many people can really be giving "100%" as theres always more you can do, but sometimes thats just crazy.

personally i really dont know how to classify my HSC effort

when i tell people that 'i know i did far from my best', i still know that the year almost killed me at times. that is to say, i put in a lot of effort, but perhaps that effort wasnt properly organised. over the christmas, easter and half yearly holidays i did 2 essays all up. yet over the year i probably had 15-20 all-nighters. not including 5/7 of my HSC exams which i was up till 6am.

it was beyond idiotic, i cant describe it. i just know now im going to be so disappointed with myself if i get something like 97.15 because i cant manage my time. ah well. i can still fantasize about seeing 99+ for a couple more days.

It's achievable by anyone. Anyone who says they put in 100% for the whole year, every day, and says they didn't burn out is obviously lying to themselves.

Depends what you mean by 100%. If you mean efficiency, which is probably what I did, then year 0-1 hours a night is probably 100% effort. There are only so many questions you can do.

If you mean 100% at doing the pointless 5 hours a night that some private schools recommend then I agree. :)

Yes, for the hours i did then i put 100% into them. unless they were online. i put maybe 20% of effort into the things i do at my pc.
lol 5 hrs per night is crazy. per weekend day it's ok but
