we are currently using the classic Couchman Jones 3 unitmaths text in class.
what do u pple use??

i feel that this book is quite outdated (my maths teacher used the book himself, in his HSC) and does not realli have the harder questions to truly challenge students. It is, i have heard, actually the easiest book out there in use by skools.

im thinking about getting the harder texts for year 12...Cambridge or Coroenos.

Last year I used:
Couchman and Jones(mainly)
Coroneos + supplement
Cambridge
fitzpatrick

it's good to have a few different textbooks.. but in the end it doesn't make much of a difference.

My school uses Maths In Focus (let me assure this is the easiest texbook available) - and has given out Couchman (as we are the first to use MIF and there is a complete set just lying aound)
I also bought Cambridge; prelim and HSC - which I hardly use though plan to do the questions that are hard to find in past papers - and for stuff that I am really bad at (like circle geometry)

i think that's couchman.....yr11 is orange and yr12 is blue/green.

i've got just about every maths textbook available (except for terry lee i think), and i never get the time to read through all of them. main textbook is fitzpatrick, and cambridge is a supplement.

I suggest using questions on this forum to supplement your textbooks.

esp my class where the only 3U handouts are past papers
(other classes might get a few handouts from other books)

if u want some harder questions u could try the trial / past papers in the resources section...

MIF but often we have exercises copied out of other textbooks to get more practice.

Coroneos - big lump of smelly recycled paper with the ugliness font in the world....bad layout. reminds me of white pages...BIG NONO

Cambridge - Heavy piece of shit....questions go far beyond the syllabus...there are the impossible ext. questions that just ridiculous - those will never be asked in an hsc exam

MIF - ? dont they only produce books for the idiot course......?? errr........ahhaahah jkz
