70+/120 for the exam?? :D :O :D

Isn't that a tad low to get a band 5? Because that equates to getting only in the 60s. And the paper was considered fairly easy this year.

But that sounds awesome! :D Thanks for the help mate!

according to our poll we have it 105-110 (top 30%?)

But what the hell...if band 6 is 95-110, then band 5 cutoff must be something like 75-85, but its hard to tell

And people are only estimating their marks, you need to take into account things like stupid mistakes that people make and such. I think if you take approx 5 off everyone's mark it would be a bit more accurate. I am in no way taking a stab at anyone here, but how often do you go over your paper and start bouncing your head off a wall because of all the dumb mistakes you made?

what are you basing this on?
I am basing this from the statistics from BOS and scaling report.

LOL @ that. 70/120 = 58.3%

How can a raw of 58% be aligned to 80%?

-.- Some people...
Ok, I admit that it is too hard to believe that. But I will tell you why.

According to 2007 Scaling Report, the median aligned mark for 2 Unit Mathematics was 76/100. That means 50% of the students got over that and another 50% got below.

On top of that, median RAW MARK according to BOS Statistics was 62-68/70 depending on the exam. Therefore, if you actually got 70+/120, it's possible that you would get Band 5 which is equal to 80-90/100 aligned mark.

That bit confuses me. Did you mean 62-68/120?

If you did then I love you, cause I think I got about 80-85/120

EDIT: :D
