What is it?
Is it for e.g. I write an essay for English and I just keep repeating it until it's in my head?

Memorising info and regurgitating it in an exam.

yeh it pretty much works for most hsc subjects, except maths (if you want an average - good mark, that is)

It's learning via reading, writing and memorising (to my knowledge at least)

v. good for theory-heavy subs (in terms of memorisation), as long as you know how to adapt that information to suit your exam questions.

I have a very narrow definition of rote learning whilst some people have a much more broad definition. To me, rote learning is just memorising facts, process etc without understanding what they are or how they operate.
