What is Med like? hours? study tons? (1 Viewer)

the unsw med course has been changed since this year, which is why i'm a bit hesitant to say anything about it for sure... it's true it might seem a bit easier on the brain, but it's cuz the study is self-oriented, no one tells u to go read ur books, u have to do it urself. In that way i think it's really good, it's really liberal and you're allowed to make ur own choices about ur study; but if u prefer being spoon-fed lectures and stuff, you'd hate it. A lotta ppl i know are really insecure because they're afraid they're not doing enough, but if u can make decisions, then it's alright =)

we learn the same stuff... just at a more relaxed pace. besides, unsw is a double degree, whereas newc has jus bmed.

haha sique MBBS=BMed, so there's no argument to go to UNSW in favour of Newie.

Anyhows, I hear Newie is very hands on whereas UNSW is very much theory based. As such there's no better uni as such- choose the one you're comfortable with

pfft every course is competent.. else they wouldnt be accredited..
every uni teaches differently and the selection process... mostly gets the student that suit it..

in Med schools quite a few ppl are from interstate
