a pen, a few sheets of paper (won't need books), maybe your calculator.
Considering it's your first day i honestly doubt you'll learn too much.

You don't need a laptop for business subjects, especially in the first week.

Just bring an exercise book for each subject with pens so you have somehwere to slip unit outlines etc and record your lecturer/tutors contact details as paper is easily lost when you need to email someone in the last week of uni:p

Is it possible to get your student card on the day of the orientation, or do we have to get it beforehand?

no you don't need a laptop for BBC accounting.
Bring water, and get some sleep so you don't drift off during class.
I find the loose-leaf lecture pads useful to write down notes and then shove them in a folder when I get home. Becuase things get really messy in an exercise book.

Yeah, you can get it anytime once you've fully enrolled on mysr at the Student Services office(open 9-5pm mon-fri) whenever, but i think there'll be massive queue's at the O-days.

Also i saw your post ari89, it's just Boris2003 is a little slow.

Also they may ask for Photo ID and bring your transport concession card slip or fill one out at the student office aswell as they process both together.
