What do people mean when they say 'Prepare a generic essay?' (1 Viewer)

For example, you get the text, Frankenstein and Blade Runner, what would a 'generic' essay be? And how do you know if it's generic enough?

Personally I made my essays with a simple introduction with fill in the blanks in places where I could adapt the question. Similarly did the same thing with topic sentences of my paragraphs

Look at all the past questions that have been asked and there's usually a recurring theme or types of question that can be asked and write a super essay based on that?
