I wanna be a combined law wanker! Hooray! Yeah my preferences are all Combined Law/Media Communications around all the Unis in Sydney - with a good ol' Bachelor of Arts at Uni of Sydney there as the little safety course just in case things go badly...which so far, is looking more than possible :)

I know its harsh, in a sense i'm choosing a near dead end degree, however i intend to complete further post grad/grad studies. Whereas I dont see where ppl will go with an arts degree?

Enlighten me, im ignorant.
Well... I want to get into speech pathology. I want to do a speech pathology degree at UQ, for a variety of reasons which I will not go into now. I'm not going to get the 95ish UAI required. I do, however, have much better chances of getting into arts. And thats what I intend to do. I figure I can spend a year studying pretty much whatever I like and getting used to uni life, then try my luck the next year of getting into speech path. And thats why I'm choosing an arts degree. Who knows, I might end up sticking with it (strange things happen). Do you feel somewhat enlightened?

is ANYONE going to une???
If I don't get into UQ, I'm off to UNE. Because its the only uni I can find where the cutoff for the arts degree is less than UQ AND you can do linguistics and modern history (because thats what I'm interested in). Also, its close to where I live. If UNE offered speech pathology, I'd consider putting it as my first preference.

your an idiot. There is no such thing as a dead end degree. Different people have different interests, and going to uni is not always about getting a job, its a learning experience too.
You really need to learn how to use 'your' and 'you're' properly natstar.

why do people choose dead end degrees?
hehehe
well i guess you wouldn't like my choices then:

visual communication UTS - 92.7
fashion and textiles design UTS - 89.15
arts in communication UTS - 94.1
design NSW COFA - 90.1
digital media NSW COFA - 90.05
(design) visual communication UWS - 70.00

the last one is a 'just in case' one. if i screw up. i really want to get the UAI for vis com at UTS though. this is the area im good at and i LIKE thats why im doing it. you should do something you like or want to do. something your crazy about. don't think about money. and career oportunities are like so huge:

"designer in graphics, advertising, animation, new media, publications, photography, illustration, broadcasting or exhibition" - UTS

thats for vis com alone so the arts isn't a dead end degree. not at all.

i answered seriously and what natstar said was actually right, there are no dead end degrees.

hey!

all of my preferences are arts.

the top three are creative arts/arts at UOW, arts at UOW and creative arts at UOW

i plan to do further grad study in either the UK or the USA in either history or english lit.

both of those lead into teaching positions and once i finish those grad studies, i'm fairly sure that i'd like to work at a university. not centrelink
and sif you were asking seriously.

Aiming for Melb-U, but that's impossible...Aiming for others in Aussie

But if my UAI is lower that 95, then I aim for local uni (Indo)
